that's a fair assessment, the ET head is a definite bottleneck, the inlet and exhaust ports are the worst I've ever seen

I know 30PSI has fitted the ET head to the DET block. If the ET head is so restrictive, can a DET head be fitted to the ET block? Or is this impossible? :(

i have seen a standered s12 with induction kit, zorst nitrous do a 1/4mile in mid 11sec :D at santa pod so if you have a healthy engine get a progressive nitrous kit and chill im thinking of this as ive only got 37k miles on my s12
just uprate the usual stuff and nitrous it mid 11sec maybe more laughing all the way with the gas if you are in some what of a budget or det the car with a few mods and you will have a good platform for future high power outputs

I spoke to a guy who i sourced an engine for and he was doing 13.1sec 1/4 miles at the pod on a standard engine on 14psi.He was using a nitrous kit.

I do wonder how much the std and a modified et head could do for sure.S13EATER could probably shed some light on it when he comes back from holiday.:D

i'd say about 330bhp, i still need my cam timing in and there's another couple of things i'am going to try, its still going strong, but the fj is well under way so maybe someone would get there self a bargin and buy the engine with the forgies, headwork, t34, top mount exhaust manifold, plenum and god knows what else its had done.

FAO S13 Eater,

hiya mate,

did you ever get the CFM flow figures for your 'before and after' ET head? I remember your current head is somewhat trick aint it? or does anyone know what a stock head and a flowed head figures are?

hi craig, the so called ported SE head flowed 85cfm, mine flowed around 94 cfm, but that was with only a 81mm bore adaptor, it would have flowed more, but andy @ amt din't know it was a 83mm bore until i showed him the s12 manual.

cheers Shaun and Sideways.

i have a spare head kicking around and was thinking of getting it done for next year. Im collecting bits at the moment for a tublar top mount and elbow.
Whats the pros and cons of tubular elbows (of the turbo rather than arm variety:D )? i have one that has a seperate wastegate dump pipe that reconnects to the elbow and thus exhaust gases about 6" later. In power terms, would i be better off making it connect further down into the downpipe? or maybe make into a screamer pipe? Only interested in performance gains, not a cool sound. How loud are screamers? wonder if they will pass circuit sound tests?
