thanx for input peeps, mite have that engine on fleabay, so its not worth doing the work required to my old engine???

Dr Silvia 12-09-2006 16:41

My two cents

it'l cost you a packet.
as far as i see it there is very little point in rebuilding an 8v bottom end, but im going 16v so i would say that wouldnt i:p

unless you're planning on hoding onto that car for a long time, it wont be financially viable...
find another engine to put in or build a det:D

What about working with s12's doesn't cost a packet though Doc Silvia? :p :o

Dr Silvia 13-09-2006 00:36

lol fair point, but £50 versus in the region of £1000+ from a nissan dealer...:1la
its probably cheaper to buy low compression pistons than new std ones if i know nissan:rolleyes:

£50 for a working engine is a pretty good deal, bearing in mind how long these cheap powerplants last compared to other similarly priced lumps i can think of.
