You would have to lose serious amounts of oil to make an issue to arise with the bearings. The whole engine, underneath the car etc would have to be soaked with oil, even if you lost just 1-2 litres.

I would fix the issue, then reuse the engine. You may be surprised and it could supply you with enough entertainment a while yet. You have that spare anyway.

Thats what happened to mine, it had rotted around the water ways and created a small split into the ring of cylinder 3:ghey

yeah i'm just gonna put another oil line on it pop it back in top the oil up and see how she goes. i dident notice any mechanical noises or any rise in temp so maybe it'll be alright....i may be building a det up over the winter anyway, as ive got a good crank and a mate's letting me have a complete knocking engine for nothing.
