It's to bad the caliper spacing is different between the North American turbo and the Euro turbo. Other wise you guys could get in on the Wilwood group buy. http://www.club-s12.org/board/showth...0&page=1&pp=30

i think that the z32tt brakes would be more than adequate for the silvia, they have to cope with the weight of the z32 which must be over 1500kg and 280bhp,so if it can stop that it should be able to stop a silvia thats 300kg lighter as standard, plus most of you are making them lighter anyway.:)

Ah i see, how much did the rossini disc cost then, if you dont mind me asking. Are they better than the Black Diamond ones? I remember 30PSI was unimpressed with his with standard pads... not sure how he's getting on with them.

Ive just sent 30psi Payment for a set of Porterfield Pads. Who is having the other set?

All i need now is some non mineral based 5.1 brake fluid. Im hoping that my brakes will be alot better. No point improving engine power and leaving the brakes lol :ghey

caliper rebuild

just wondering how hard it is to refurb the standard calipers? do you need any special tools, etc.....
also where do you get the kits from and how much are they:)
i would like to do this and then fit some braided brake lines, and possiably fit new pipes as well:)

s13eater 13-03-2006 17:32

it would be not much more to pick some 300zxtt calipers up and refurb them,it cost 70 for caipers and 45 full seal kit.full braided hose kit is 65 inc postage.

Well i fitted the porterfield pads from martin along with repacking my wheel bearings and changing my discs to 6 groove discs that i had lying in my garage from an old silvia. They feel great. i think i will end up warping the discs or boiling my fluid before these pads fade. I had my discs glowing all the colours of the rainbow earlier while testing them( after running the pads in).So yes i highly reccommend these pads. Cheers Martin :D

s13eater 24-04-2006 20:34

i fitted a z32 caliper earlier, only to find that the earls braided hose's have the wrong fitment on the end, its ok onto the caliper, but its the wrong flair on the silvia line, i'll ring earls up 2moz and sort it,i made spacers up out of a set of old pads.i also found a water leak, its one of those feckin pipes to the block underneath the plenum:( .
