LOL thats just a bit of carpet(dashmat) to stop the sun from cracking the vinyl dashboard,as they only last a couple of years in the aussie sun.Just recently the glue holding down the velcro strips that hold it in place melted and it started to slide off under acceleration.

/the cam cover was bead blasted then painted with vht metal tint sp-232 ,and then given a few coats of power plus clear engine enamel.
Then it cracked the head a few weeks later and the parts washer stripped it all off so now it looks crappy again.Next time Ill do the manifold too
Like the white coupe Brian it just needs tinted windows and the chrome moulds powder coated, very straight ,did you paint it?

PukkaSilvia 28-02-2007 23:35

where did that carbon brace come from?

Conkers 02-03-2007 09:47

Pistonfreak,

In the picture on your signature, is it a standard front bumper cut out to allow more air in....

Thinking about lightening the bumpers on mine and chopping some material away... and letting more air in... anyone shed some light on that sort of mod??!

Mike.

well its a good 10 years since I built it but it goes something like this:

Knife edged crank
Steel S13 rods
JE forged low comp pistons
Light weight flywheel & AP paddle clutch
Block machined and oil jets fitted for crown cooling
Cooper ringed to improve gasket sealing
All components balanced
Head port
Fast road cam
5th injector (MF2 Controlled)
Water injection (MF2 Controlled)
SE Pace intercooler
Hybrid T28 (Can't remember the spec but it was £1600 10 years ago and seemed to work quite well!)
26psi Boost

That list doesn't seem as long as I remember but I'm sure there the main bits.

I was using 2 x MF2's to drive the fuel and water. Crude but did the job

I'll have a look at home for some more pictures, under bonnet etc

s13eater 02-03-2007 12:26

looks tidy, could do with that on our s12 line up at jae.

the airport is about 3 hours (200 miles-ish) from where I live. she will get the freezing rain and ice storm. the whole weekend is going to be ice and snow. at least in the UK you got rain most of the time.

Ooooooh, where'd you get the semi invisible pop-ups from? Are they lighter? :wack

Conkers 02-03-2007 21:51

"Nissantegrale" Front bumper! I can call it that without the integrale maffia lynching me, as I have been there, done that.... anyway, my 'grale bumper inspired me...
Excuse the cheesy brand name for the front bumper... he he.. it's still work in progress of course, but heres a picture of the cut outs.. hard to get the full visual without, wings, lights, grille and bonnet fitted.. but here it is anyway.

http://bp1.blogger.com/_rI1PS9fSkZ0/...0/IMG_6476.JPG

I will probably increase the width of the outer two edges, as I didnt cut it where I had intended... duh.. and then possibly move the indcator light units back an inch and fit mesh over them in the apertures..., to keep the mesh max airflow look, even though only the three new apertures will increase airflow. Then the entire bumper, mesh and backing plater will be painted along with the rest of the ar when the gp widebody is on there.
Note: I have to chop a ton of metal out of the bumper backplate tomorrow otherwise all that lovely fresh air wont get anywhere useful... All this is in preparation for the bigger engine and intercooler in the future..

Mike

It's from a JZX80 supra. I just modified the mounts that go on the strut towers to make it fit

Mike.

It's a custom Fibre Glass bar that I've made
I've made it from a "MFX" AE86 sprinter fibre glass front bar and grafted it to the upper half of the S12 series 1 bar.
I then took a mould and now make the occasional one for other guys here in Australia

Once my GP kit is here I'll be making this bar I have fit the car with the lower half of the matching skirts atatched to the GP's skirts with matching rear bar
