jAPEURO LOOK

Im planning on respraying my car in the next month.I have just done a photoshop off the bits which i am planning on smoothing. this includes all body lines and bump strips and fender flares and lower archers and indicators. I thought i would post a picture up. and then a picture of the actual car in comparison to it in a months time. Do you think the idea looks ok?

jon what size i/c pipe are you using ?

PukkaSilvia 14-04-2006 10:14

65mm hot and cold side.

i forgot to smooth away the upper side line under the window seal in that photoshop.i only smoothed away it on the wing....I hope it will all look ok. It will be my first respray too. I'm looking forward to doing it.Shame i have a bout 2 weeks in evenings worth of prep work to do beforehand

how are you going to tackle getting rid of the swage lines out of interest?

PukkaSilvia 14-04-2006 17:42

Fibreglass base and then sandable filler top. Ive just bought all the materials so i will start it sunday.

it should look good mate are you planning on removing the arieal and door handles aswell as that will look mad proper straight lines

PukkaSilvia 15-04-2006 20:23

Yes i am removing the ariel and also smoothing in the rear spoiler. The door handles are staying there though.

I have just bought my paint.....My bodywork has suddenly become a little adventurous :D . Hopefully i can pull it off.I will be doing the whole thing myself after work hours with advice from people at work as i go along to minimilise the f**k-ups.

turbomike 16-04-2006 16:09

like somebody said on here"its better when you do the work yourself":D,so youve never sprayed a car before?

PukkaSilvia 16-04-2006 23:08

nope:rolleyes:.We have a bodyshop with equipment at my work and my boss and another guy who work there have been showing me how to do the stages. they will give me advice between each paint layer.

I fitted a better drivers side wing today as my other one was rotten down by the sill and had to refit my rear spats as they had cracked where the car grounded out on a slope :( . Hopefully i can get some more fillering and fitting done tommorow and get the missus to help:p .I hamerited the inside of the replacement wing so hopefully it will last.

I came to a slight problem,by removing the wing indicators my indicators are going to flash too fast.I havnt decided to leave them connected as standard or put the bulbs in line somewhere else hidden
