Fitting T25 to CA18ET
hi, i know a few of you have done this conversion, i have my T25 (just needs recon) and all other parts, i read somewhere that you have to cut off a lug on the gearbox to fit the downpipe, can someone please take a pic of the said lug on the box, and post it up on here, i need to know of any other things i need to watch out for in this conversion.
Cheers. |
heres a pic for you:)

cheers for the pic's m8, really appreciate it.
i got this for mine, i just hope it fits first time. meant to be for an s13 DET. http://www.umpkin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/elbow.JPG http://www.umpkin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/elbow1.JPG |
Did that fit by the way?
|
didn't have to cut anything by using the s12 elbow
|
Danny have a :trout
You may get away with not cutting it Umpkin. i didnt cut it on one of my s12s but i had to on another. It maybe a mk1/2 thing. Check it before you cut it. |
I had to cut the lug off mine, its no bother atall so may aswell use the correct elbow for the T25:)

So s13 these elbows will fit onto a t25 no probs? As i cant get elbow to seperate of my old exhaust & i am going to have the weld my new exhaust anyway (Pukka's old one) is worth me getting one?
like this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-200SX-S...QQcmdZViewItem |
i used one of these elbows on my t28 fit straight on but the studs dnt match up the the rest of the exhaust after the elbow so im cuttin the flange then bolting it to the elbow then reweld it in place
|
I use T25 from CA18DET to replace the stock turbo on CA18ET. I use T25 dump pipe (from bings.ca just because he's local, but it's the same with most ebay pipe), and it clear everything just fine. no need for cutting or something like that.

hello
just bought a t25... so just to clarify, am i right in thinking that all i need is the turbo elbow from an s13 and a flexi/braided oil feed, cut a lug off the gearbox and thats it?! it'll just bolt on? cheers! alv |

i have just done this mod yesterday and what a cee you next tuesday of a job it was i used t25 off 200sx with the 200sx downpipe from turbo only had to shave off a bit of the lug on the gbox but i have a mk1 s12 if that makes a difference. i also used the oil return metal pipe from 200sx and cut about 1" off it and with a bit of gentle persuasion lol the rubber pipe fitted like a glove. the hardest part was getting that bloody nut on the manifold the 1 at the bottom. took 2 hours of molesting and when it came off it took the stud with it. i changed the stud with a smaller 1 and it was alot easier to get back on just blowing now so need to order some more manifold gaskets. the oil line was piece of cake but the water lines were a bit hard to fit as the washers on the banjo bolts keep falling off just as i lined them up lol was very stressful. i also used the 3 bolt flange that comes from the turbo out to the intake manifold i just cut a bit off of the standard plenum pipe match up and used bit of silicone hose and 2 clamps to secure lovely job. i cant comment on performance as when i bought the car on friday the turbo was seized. i will be fitting boost controller this week coming changing spark plugs and either welding up that saftey valve or if i can be bothered blanking it off. hope this helps guys

Has anybody fitted a t25 to an auto and fancy giving me any pointers?
Im guessing there is no lug to chop and is there anything else I should look out for? |

You also need the s13 compressor side outlet 3 bolt flange/pipe
You can only use the s13 oil feed pipe on a mk2 s12 mid 1986 onwards as the mk1's have a feed from around the other side near the oil filter |
Ah right mine is a mk1.
Ill have to have a further llok at everything under bonnet then Cheers guys |
just to be odd, my c-reg auto mk1 had the oil feed on the turbo side of the block. Havn't a clue why but it was 100% the original engine
|
rpattafor's c reg had the feed on the left hand side too, lucky for me as i had the pig tail feed for it and mine split a few weeks ago.:)
