Tell me more about my ECU

Ok, my ECU gallery :D :

My car is a mk 1,5 mk2 facelift, manual trans tranny C, no A/C :(, no rev limiter.
What does "92 A18-660 634 7109 ECU" mean?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/200SX...spagenameZWDVW
Is it really different?
What's your ECU like?

Cheers.

northerner 12-10-2006 17:46

If its a C tranny then I would think its the MKII. The mkII ecu has a rev limiter and the harness is modified so the diagnostic bleeper thingy can be used to find faults whilst driving. They are the only differences I know between the MKI and MKII

alundra 12-10-2006 21:25

Thanks,

I don't have a rev limiter: http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/1408/rupteur0wx2.gif
Where can I found a pic with the mk2 ECU plugs side? I mean this side:http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/2...e038ex4.th.jpg

I opened it to see if I can attach an eprom... Cheers.

s13eater 12-10-2006 21:34

thats healthy ain't is it:rolleyes:

northerner 12-10-2006 23:01

the MKII ecu is exactly the same shape and same pins

PukkaSilvia 12-10-2006 23:04

There is no eprom chip alundra. But youve been told that already............

I know 2 mappers who've said different

30psi 13-10-2006 11:56

It can be mapped. Horsham Developments would like an S12 ECU to look at. Who lives near Reading that could give Jez one?

What about the fella you know Danny?

PukkaSilvia 13-10-2006 18:52

Obviously it can be mapped as Nissan did it originally, Noone currently does the mapping of new chips service as of yet though do they? Its just talk
You told me on S.x.o.c last year along with loads of others s12 owners that the ecu couldnt be remapped.
There isnt a chip like the s13s in there but im sure if horsham developments can get blank chips in the same format to the s12 one and a reader writer to fit them then it could be done.

il post an ecu to Jez if thats all were waiting for. I have loads of the things kicking around. Whats his details.

30psi 13-10-2006 21:28

Yeah well since then I discovered it can be mapped, and I have the bin file from the ecu so you can see the original map.

PukkaSilvia 14-10-2006 10:27

Fair enough. If Jez wants an ecu he can email me at [email protected]. Im sure a setup like Adz car would be a good one to base a map on seeing as though hes setups nearly done and he is about to get a t28.

30psi 14-10-2006 11:43

I'll prob be seeing Jez soon enough, so I could give him one. I forgot to give him one when I saw him the other month. If then he felt he could do it, then he would need a car to play with.

RichardK 17-10-2006 17:27

I'd be interested to see the bin file Mart.

I have an EPROM reader/writer :)

30psi 17-10-2006 18:40

I'll email it tomorrow.

Have you got the equipment to write a chip then?

PukkaSilvia 18-10-2006 18:14

You would of thought if jez was that interested he would of bought an ecu by now. there always available if a wanted ad goes up. Whats 15 quid to a company that charges 150 quid per chip. But nope He wants it free and delivered.Or he isnt particularly bothered at all... LOL :trout

s13eater 18-10-2006 21:38

complete waste of time, you need to get rid of the afm, its very restrictive and not accurate enough, plus you guys with blow off valves, it throws the fueling out,and eveytime you mod something, you will need another chip.

30psi 18-10-2006 21:48

The S13 lads have got very close to 300bhp on the std afm. There is always the Z32 afm option.

s13eater 18-10-2006 21:55

still not as good as an aftermarket system, or the top tuners would not bother changing to them, plus with the 8 valve you need all the help you can get to acheive that sort of power, why feck around, if your gonna do a job do it right, don't skimp.mind you it would probley do for what mods most people have.

30psi 18-10-2006 21:58

The aftermarket ECU route can cost close to £1500 including mapping. Most people cant afford that.

turbomike 19-10-2006 16:36

are you still gonna be using the omex when the fj is in shaun?

PukkaSilvia 19-10-2006 17:57

Yep the standard afm should flow upto 265bhp on the et at guestimate based on it being around 300bhp on the det engine.A standard ecu with remapped chip for s13 injectors should suit a lot of people

yeah mate, i think its capable, unless your chasing the last 2 or 3 bhp its not worth spending 2-3k on motec, when my omex can be mapped to near as damn it, i'd be wasting money, mike, my head is in the acid bath at AMT engines, its getting ready for the flow bench.

PukkaSilvia 19-10-2006 19:48

Is the bench made from Oak or Pine?

s13eater 19-10-2006 20:55
