Worlds first aftermarket 296mm discs for S12

The discs and caliper brackets in this kit will fit the S12 strut. This is a world first, so now you can move on from the gay s12 brakes:

s13eater 15-12-2006 11:57

will those disc's fit with the z32 calipers ?

30psi 15-12-2006 12:02

They're designed for Z32/R33 calipers by looks of things. I only came across them by chance where some people use R31 legs as a mod on early Datsuns

Yeah but they won't fit on UK hubs will they? Can't remember if its the disc or the caliper that is the issue.

I still say, for best options, S13 coilovers and hubs are the best way in terms of suspension and available brake upgrades

They won't fit the caliper spacing on the UK cars, I think the hub maybe different aswell. If I had to do it again I'd go with a S13 coilover and big brake swap.

'try using decent brake pads, discs and brake fluid before you label s12 brakes as crap and go larger'.Try mintex pads or something and a complete system bleed. Halfords/ferodo/apex/motor factor pads just arnt upto the job. Ive found the s12 brakes to be twice as good as the s14 brake conversion when the s12 brakes have decent brand pads and the s14 ones did not

But in the UK you guys have a 11" front disk we have only have 10" so you have more braking power stock.

The S14 conversion isn't worth it really unless you use thicker discs. The braking effort will be pretty much unchanged. I bet that Wilwood conversion up there feels magical. When I've worn out the Z32 discs I will go to 310x32mm discs from Apex Performance.

S12's discs are only 22mm thick. Coupled with calipers what dont do a good job of asborbing heat unlike the larger S14 caliper, they are more likely to fade. This is where the real issue lies. The braking force on std discs is reasonably ok, its just there ability to withstand continuous use which is a big issue. Even with the Portfield pads and new discs, I questioned their resistance to fading after a hard lap of the romford ring road.
