what mods do i need? help

hey guys. my s12 allready has a t28 turbo, and i have just aquired a t3 hybird turbo for her, now it has a uprated actuator. and she is rated to boost at 1.6 bar. now what im wondering is will my engine block take it. pistons, conrods ect. fueling ect isnt a problem im just wondering bout internals? is this too much boost?:D or is there such thing as too much boost? lol:cool:
so any help on mods needed or other applications would be alot of help?
thanks guys.

PukkaSilvia 17-12-2006 18:28

Not really. it will need uprating. forged pistons and det rods or at the least det pistons and rods. And a genuine nissan head gasket should be used.
i think 18/19 psi is the maximum that should be ran on a very healthy et bottom end excellent fuelling setup

what have you done with your fueling, exhaust and intercooler then?

mr2sc89 18-12-2006 18:54

uprated intercooler, full stainless 3" exhaust, omex ecu, uprated fuel pump, fuel rail i think is standard. and thats aboul it, oh and an induction kit and cold air feed! where would i go to get uprated piston or det stuff? would second hand det stuff do? and will it fit right in as i have a det engine with botom end gon but not seezed, out of my 200sx?:D

mr2sc89 20-12-2006 20:42

bump:)

PukkaSilvia 20-12-2006 21:25

You can use ca18det forged pistons. These will need ca18det rods for them to be compatable.. the det rods fit the et bottom end and crank fine.

Sounds like a very nice setup. Where has your s12 been hiding all these years? Have you done the work to it yourself?

another one

PukkaSilvia 06-01-2007 14:05

yes that was owned by a max power writer. he bought it already 'done up' then satin blacked it and bought a new turbo. after that he couldnt work out why it wouldnt start. max power slagged the car off a bit on there site page by saying it was ugly.(toss*rs)It came up for sale on here. Did you buy it through s12oc classifieds?

turbomike 06-01-2007 16:17

i remember that car from the mags,i think it had a custom made stainless steel exhaust by extreme motorsport, the turbo was given to essex turbos and made into a hybrid t2/25 i think and seem to remember it costing £1000:eek: ,they put a star wars:D steering wheel on and gearknob/pedal set,had it sprayed matt black and put tsws on ,then it wasnt in the mags anymore......

mr2sc89 07-01-2007 11:53

yep that sounds like my car. has a hybrd turbo. an custon exhaust. na i hought it off some guy in milton keyns. i didnt even know about this site until i googled it! and i found my saviours. :) the guy i bought it off couldnt get it started either, he must have bought it off max power. he brought it to a garrage, they replaced ecus, everythin. i posted up my problems here, and got loads of helpfull replys. im a mechanic so i ran through everything, and i mean everything, so i got fed up with it one night, i loged on and went trough every post again, and i noticed i think norterner said to check the block connectors under the air box, as these were giving him similar problems in the past, it didnt look that bad, but i had tryd everything else, so i cut and rejoind every wire sepratly with seald connections, and first turn of the key nothing, and i look at the engin bay and kicked myself as i had left the plug on the first cylinder out. he he:D :o
so i tryd her again. and up she went. first go. i did backflips.:sderfd awsome feeling. so now im prepairing her for prodrift series. ful custom cage, new bride stering wheel as it had a horrible star trek one. have an omex ecu to go in, also have a t3 hybird turbo. but not sure weter to put it in or not. and there my plans for the moment! any sugestions?

adzs12 07-01-2007 14:06

I had the same problem a long time ago and it was a single wire on one of those connectors under the air filter that had corroded and snapped off, i swapped that part of the loom and bingo;)

datdrift 07-01-2007 15:44

if your drifting it then steering rack spacers are a must on a s12, as the standard lock on them is shit;)

what suspension have you got on it?

mr2sc89 07-01-2007 16:48

theres coilovers on it on the front, and cas shocks and springs, camber plates
and up rated roll bars and wish bones. shes prety stiff. tell me more about this steerin rack mod? :D

datdrift 07-01-2007 17:14

just take the tie rod off the rack and put a s13 spacer from driftworks or somewhere (5mm or so) and bolt it back up, you need to adjust the tie rod - rod end by the 5mm to straighten the wheels back up and you should get the tracking re-done, but i havent got around to it yet:rolleyes:

heres the thread i did on it - http://www.nissansilvia.co.uk/vbb/sh...light=steering

30psi 07-01-2007 17:28

Ive got the spacers you need, Im not going to use them

mr2sc89 07-01-2007 19:18

sounds good. i have a race track booked out with a mate for thursday. so im gona test her out then. i had her out before, but now ive irond out the kinks.
cant wait.:D

mr2sc89 07-01-2007 19:18

how much 4 the spacers. 30psi

30psi 08-01-2007 00:48

Dunno i think they're only a couple of quid from driftworks
