Dump Valve Fitting

just about to fit a T5 intercooler, have a bailey dump valve and T piece to go with it.

When removing the original Turbo to Inlet pipe what happens to the small pipe in the middle?

When I fit the Dump Valve where do the little vacuum pipes go from there?

you need to keep the small pipe on thecrossover pipe and just t into a vaccum pipe for the top of the dump valve ie:between the fuel pressure reg.

where does the small pipe from the crossover pipe plumb too?

have you got a dump in there somewhere?

Think he's trying to say dump valves are gay and you shouldnt have one :D ...

But no, he's showing you where the idle pipe connects to as you asked :)

i have the cozzie intercooler, so my dump valve is on that, and the vacum is tee-ed into the vac pipe that goes to the fuel reg.

dump valves do actually do a job:rolleyes: , people with proper power use them, it stops the turbo shart snapping in half when you change gear, obviously not many people use real mans boost;) , not enough to need a blow off valve.:trout

cheers guys, getting more and more information everyday to get this thing built and down to JAE.

Keep up the good work

hey, it also allows the turbo to continue spinning when changing gears, else you get a little turbo stall. it dont make much difference i know, but it does make some, and thats worth it in my poor old car.

I just dont like the sound, I'm gonna get a recirc one, but haven't really found any suitable other than the expensive turbosmart ones. But then again I haven't really been looking hard.

There are arguments for and against. Some dump valves release too much air, so although the turbo hasn't reduced speed much it has to recompress all the air in the pipework and intercooler creating a lag effect, but then some still get compressor stall even when they dump.

I've always said I will use one once I go past 20psi but currently running 0psi kinda means I dont need one right now.
