yer thats my little toy, didnt u put me in touch with someone who had an engine for sale
its a pity i could'nt of raced you whilst i had the beast up and running, never mind i'll give ya a run next year,;)
yes that was me.
What has your best time been so far and what issues have you had with the car on the strip. Is the nitrous kit a wet or dry kit? Would love to hear more on the budget car spec. I love diy budgetness:D |
yer that,d be cool, what times have you run, my best time so far has been a 12.5 something, cant remember exactly but will sort the ticket out. been running on the engine you sorted for me since i got it must have done 40 to 50 runs, use the nos straight of the line, best 60 foot time 1.8 secs and crossing the line at 108, hopefully be quicker this year

i think the only thing quartering proves, it what a good or shite driver you are, even though i like watching it, i'll be running simular bhp to 9.1sec ben diggles, but i'll not beat his time as i've never quatered b4, that if it ever gets finished.
i think it gives you a good idea of how quick a car is in a straight line, ie power to wieght but thats about it. i only started bcos my mates running a bmw and he said i should buy something and have a go, so i bought the s12 for £50 and the rest is history
So is your s12 road legal or purely jut for the strip?
Do you have any further plans for it so that you can better your times? |
no its not on the road but it doesnt need much to get an mot its just i havnt realy got time to do it, to many other cars. ive got a few plans for it, everyone seems to think its totally stripped but its actualy only the carpet and seats realy, its still got electric windows, so maybe get rid of some more weight and maybe some more power if i can do it cheap, ive already killed 1 exedy clutch so need to find a better way round that, any suggestions?
Anything above the exedy clutch is quite expensive. Ive heard good things about the rps max street clutch but thats 350 quid at a rough estimate.
i think i need a paddle clutch to be honest, i was told by silvia engineering that the exedy one they sold me was good for 300 hp, not convinced. is it right u can fit an s13 clutch
The exedy clutch is an S13 clutch. So when SE said that you were buying an uprated S12 clutch, you were in fact just getting a standard S13 clutch.
so if i get a paddle clutch for an s13 i should be sorted then
If you like to slip your clutch on a launch then it might not be too suitable.
i dont need to slip it anymore cos those mickey thompson tyres just grip, i just need a clutch thats gona do the job, ud think thatd b easy
Well I'd have thought a budget paddle clutch would do the job then.
yer maybe, have to have a look around and c whats about. should get the head back this week, gota have it ready for the jap show
