T28
Ive got my T28 and ive looked at fitting it bit of fuckin about but seems straight forward has anyoff u done it? i knw i need a s13 turbo elbow as the studing is different and also the boost pipe from the turbo and ova the rocker(if ne 1 has these plz let me know) and the oil pipes seem almost the same which is cool lol wot sorta pwer difference does it make? and will i get a lota lag?

As you sound like you're running without an intercooler you won't notice much difference in power, however power delivery will be smoother and further up the rev range. It will be a little laggy though, not much to write home about, certainly won't make much of a difference on the street.
Have you changed the plugs as well? It's well worth looking out for an FMIC setup as that let's you crank up the boost a little and will make a difference to power output because of it. There were a few for sale not so long back, I'm sure someone will pipe up if there is still one available. Don't forget that it's also well worth uprating your fuel pump with these mods as it's less likely to lean out running on a Walbro and will save you a piston or two! After that I'd start to think about making it stop/corner better. Pound for pound good quality brakes and tyres are unbeatable for performance gains, makes the whole thing safe too! |

yer from a pulser. wots a FMIC set up and wot plugs shud i use? soz if im being thick here lol its alredady lowerd n stiffend n i got pilot sports on! i wouldnt mind some nice shocks thou!
also im having problems mounting the actuator has ne 1 done this if so how?????? lol i also need a 200sx s13 boost pipe from the turbo as it is different from the siliva 1 n e ideas ??? |

I have recently chcecked haw much the stock injectors can handle. 0.7 bar is a maximum preasure on a T28 turbo with no fuel system upgrade except walbro fuel pump. It leens to 12,5:1 at 6000 rmp. The maf shows 4.95 volts and u cant ad any more fuel.

With a wide band o2 sensor ecumster piggyback compter wich tell me AFM imput voltage to the ecu and a boost gauge. And i have a volvo 740 IC.

So if it maxes out at such an early stage how do the S13 owners manage 270bhp @ 1.2 bar?
It is worth noting that higher boost will result in higher fuel pressure so to some extent a reasonable fuel ratio can be maintained. |
s13 ovners have 370cc injectors compared to 270cc in the s12's Yesterday i have instaled s13 injectors and remaked the MAF its now 60mm wide not mear stock 45mm. MAF that big will leen out whrew whole ragne of rpm's but will allow me to tune it more precise in the higher boost range.

The s13 uses the same air flow meter and that doesn't max out at 0.7 bar though. Its good for airflow up to 270bhp.
Worth noting that increasing the bore of the afm doesn't create a linear difference, but a logarithmic difference |
S13 and s12 AFM are not the same. Thats all i can say. Can u explain term logarytmic diference?? Im a bit of with higher math.

The pre lambda ones are the same I have used both with no difference.
Pure examples here: Small afm at idle 1.2v Large afm at idle 0.8v Small afm at full throttle 4.8v Large afm full throttle 2.7v On the Nissan s12's they have what is know as a VQ map which is a curve. The shape of the curve is difference for different afm's but the VQ map can be transplanted when using say a Z32 afm. I can't drag up pics from ROM Editor coz I'm at work. If you look at this you can see the different VQ curves for the different afm's. |
I know the diference betwen Vq maps but will alowing more air whrew the largere AFM lean the AFR??? Using Wideband abd ecumaster i can bring it back to proper seting but i want to avoide having the same AFM readout at 0.7 and 1.2 bar. I tryed to swap prelamba s12 AFM and s13 with lambda and it didnt want to cooperate. the one i have now ia with a o2 sensor. the one i had before ( no o2 sensor) didnt maxed out ever. But ECU with no o2 sensor will not work with AFM from a car with o2 sensor. I have checked that myself. I have both ECU's

yeah it will but you need to also be aware that the ecu master is nothing more than an SAFC in its principle isnt it?
I would be careful of changing the input voltage into the ECU too much because it will effect your ignition timing. Unless the ecumaster alters the ecu output signals you have no way of adjusting the timing |
Ecumaster can retard ignition in s12 but they are working on a new version so maybe someday it will be able to advance.

Does it delay the CAS signals then?

There are two signals coming from the CAS to the ECU and ich one is diferent.
It delays the signal from ecu to a power transitor(ignition module). |

Today i have set AFR on my silvia 12.5-11:1 @ 1 bar of boost. But one thing is bothering me. the car puls better then on 0.7 but after few runs the exhaust mainfold starts to glow. This has never happend in my old car(atuly happend at 0.8 bat of boost on a T2 with no IC). Can the EGR system (mallfunction or not) cos it????? It happend the moment i have replaced injectors and pluged EGR back because i fond out that a vacume line from the intake manifold was of. The plugs are all wite ( the AFR at lower RMP's with no bost is 14.7:1)
And one thing more before tuning it but right after instaling bigger injectors exhaust mainfold olso glowed red even at at low boost and the AFR was much richer. |

Mayby i damaded knock sensor harnes during replacing the injectors.

I'm preaty shure they have. Because the 4 spark ECU dos not cooperate withe 8 spark MAF

Try to use an S13 afm, but then your work on original afm maybe sufficient
I guess the pin outs on your ecu are different to the UK spec? |
The signal cable is the same in both ECU's and the voltage is the same but the 4 spark does not accepsts it dont know why. I will try an s13 one with a lambda.

got everything now ive made up a now bracket for the actuator i went to ilford tonite to get the boost pipe so hopefully fingers crossed ill have my t28 on 2morrow along with my s13 clutch!

its all on now had to mod alot of things to get it on but its on now doesnt spool till 4000rpm which is weird but wen it does gives a nice bang

has anyone else done this upgrade and knw what the safe boost pressure is for this turbo? and what can the engine take safely im runin about 10psi atm with no intercooler and not turning it up until i have intercooler on!does go like stink thou cnt beleive the improvement not jst in feel but by racin other cars which i raced ddays ago with the smaller turbo i pull lenths ahead

0.7 bar is the max but with an IC and stock fuel system.

is that the engine or the turbo? and wot can run wen i pout y ic on and wot shud i upgrade on the fuel system ~?? lookin at pumps now
