is there anybody out there who can recommend a cheap insurance company for my s12 which is now ready

I think Pukkasilvia and Claire managed to wrangle club discount from Adrian flux if that's any help. Other than that give A-Plan a go, they seem to be fairly flexible and can offer you anything from classic limited mileage to performance car stuff.

If it`s any help. When I had my s12 on the road (about six years ago :o ). I used Herts Insurance. They do a second car, modified and agreed value policy (underwritten by Lloyds). At the time they were the cheapest for me :D .

Ian.

Try www.performancedirect.co.uk. Make sure you ring them after doing an online quote. Online it came to £270 (same as A Flux) but after I rang them they managed to get it down to £198.

That`s not bad :D .
Did you have the limited mileage, agreed value policy ?
Because I remember the agreed value did cost me a bit extra on the premium, plus loads of extra forms and pics to do :( .

Ian.

use performance direct and adrian flux to get the price down, i do it every year, adrian flux never let performance direct beat them. i have been with adrian flux for the past 11 years (past car and the s12)

Performance direct and Adrian flux probably underwrite to the same set of insurers. I know that the quotes I got from both were using Equity Red Star as the underwriters. Performance direct actually contacted the insurers direct to explain that I wanted it below £200. I didn't go back and try to haggle with flux, maybe would have been worth a try

It`s always a good idea to haggle with insurance.
I never just pay the renewal premium. I saved an extra £75 this year on my Hyundai Coupe, just by telling my insurer that I`d got a cheaper quote from someone else (even though I didn`t).;) .
Most companies will give you a cheapish quote in your first year with them, just to get your Business. Then hope that in year two you will just renew with them without looking for other quotes :( .
It`s always a good idea to haggle ;) .
Top tip from a tight Lancashire Lad  .
Regards,
Ian.

Im shopping around at the mo. Mr A FLux has just asked for £800! thats with 6 years no claims as well. Which seems a touch steep.
