I've got a new track rod end here doing nothing if anyone needs one. Need to check which side it is. Also got new track rods too if anyone has inner balljoints worn out.

Answer to the question, S13 track rod ends DO NOT fit the S12. They're about 4" shorter.

i need the drivers side one, if it is one right one, how much you want for it???

I had it at home so checked it, but unfortunately its a LHS side one:

i got 2 from japarts before, what about if you used the inner ball joint as well???

You might find the S13 ones a little bit too long (I did). Also the S13 ones are pretty thin and are prone to bending, so I used R33 GTR ones, which are actually sold as tein rods and ends at driftworks

doski 11-09-2007 00:14

are the r33 ones any longer?? are you using the s13 suspension set up?

30psi 11-09-2007 00:20

They're probably a very similar length. The reason I got them was coz the rods on the doner S13 I had were pretty shite.

Yep I have the S13 hubs on the front. When trying to use standard rods with them they had to be adjusted longer. But they're probably not safe as they're close to the end of the travel. However when i fitted the new rods they were about 1.5" too long.

I wouldn't worry about using S13 ones, try to get the S12 rod ends. The rods are only a few inches long, compared to like 9" or something for the S13 ones, so they're techincally stronger. Dunno why Nissan used short rod ends/long rods for the S13 compared to short rods/long ends for the S12

My above findings are on my Datsun which has a different rack and different track width to the S12, so you may find things a little bit different. I know some people have fitted S13 hubs over in Oz so try their site for more info with the rods.

on that japarts site, what part number was what side, they do specify LH and RH, but was unsure if they were right, assume LH and RH are as from sitting in the car LH being passenger side etc, can anyone clarify this for me. cheers.

doski 02-10-2007 18:03

LH side is passenger side but they are no longer able to get them, they can only get driver side

30psi 02-10-2007 18:40

I think its the drivers side one he needs

umpkin 02-10-2007 21:05

tis the drivers one i need. :D cheers
