Insurance

hey people just wondered where and how much people are payin on insurance im about to renew mine
this year i paid £1134 fully comp im 21 with no no claims been driving 4 years that was with tescos! and not declearing everything

i rung adrian flux this week they cnt offer me anything near that even with a years no claims

30psi 30-10-2007 23:49

Your not truly insured if you haven't declared everything.

Try performance direct too, but it could be that your a young driver, I was paying near on to a grand for a few years in my old S12.

mr_turbo 31-10-2007 00:56

i know but i not sayin i havea t28 etc no chance on gettin insured they rape me as it is!

Strong-Soul 31-10-2007 02:37

I just paid £376.00 with lancaster insurance for my S12 unmodified kept in a garage I dont have any NCB but I am 29, I got this qoute using insure supermaket.com

But if you have mods you better declare, or you may find your self behind bars in a worse case senario, I use to work for an insurance company, they will use any excuse not to pay out when they can!

try sky insurance they quoted cheap for a 21 year old who got insured on a supra with loads of mods,

PukkaSilvia 31-10-2007 07:41

my s12 was always insured as standard lol.

s12s are stupid money to insure. more than my r32,pulsar, an rx7....

30psi 31-10-2007 07:46

Without declaring the mods you wont be truly covered for all instances, so your paying to be not insured.

mr_turbo 31-10-2007 08:48

not reali they find any excuse not to pay anyway!! no one insures everymod its impossible plus on my last car wen i told then about my alloys and exhuast they sed u dont need 2 tell us as the alloys where the same size as standard and the exhuast didnt increase power

30psi 31-10-2007 09:08

If you smash into a bus stop and its shown that the accident wouldn't have happened to the same level or degree without the modifications then you won't be covered.

Insurers used to not pay out even if you didn't tell them about a cone air filter, but now the mods need to be accountable for the severity of the accident. So if you have a small prang its not going to make any odds but anything that would have been worse by the modifications make it a different story.

Your risk, but I would ask for a quote for the additional mods to see what they increase it by.

Also goes for theft too, the mods will make it more likely to be nicked.

Its just that in my eyes you're paying money not to be truly insured.

sideways danny 31-10-2007 13:06

insurance companies do check forums VERY regularly by the way

PukkaSilvia 31-10-2007 22:17

I wont be giving them any members details

Strong-Soul 01-11-2007 01:18

You Are Not Insured If You Do Not Declare Your Mods! You Have To Go To An Insurance Company That Does Special Mods Insurance. Trust Me If You Have An Accident And Injure Someone You Could Face Some Very Severe Concequences! Try Sky Insurance

PukkaSilvia 01-11-2007 07:43

cheer up people. this thread is completely jobsworth

mr_turbo 01-11-2007 10:11

lol was just curouisly asking wot people pay lol!! not a despressive discusion lol

wacomuk 01-11-2007 12:04

a mate of mine had a phone call from his insurance asking him if he wanted to insure his alloy wheels and body kit. Someone had took a pic of his car at a retro ford show with the REG plate in full view, The insura had seen the pic (while checking forums) checked his REG againsed there records ARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

CNUTS!

30psi 01-11-2007 12:24

Surprising they go to these efforts, but if you were an insurer you'd want to know if the policyholder is more likely to make a claim (be it stolen or accident).

mr_turbo 02-11-2007 07:39

Probably best you speak to your insurance company.

Sorry mate can`t do. It says you are not authorised to view this page. I think you have to log onto the site to retrieve quotes :( .
Regards,
Ian.
P.s. When I had my s12 on the road, I was insured with HIC. Limited mileage, agreed valuation and you could actually talk to a broker that understood about cars and modifications  .

s13eater 28-12-2007 17:10

got a quote as cheap as £183 fully comp.

Oscar 28-12-2007 18:03

im now insured with lancaster insurance :)
436 quid a year, im 24 no ncb mods declared, 8k miles a year and parked on road, fully comp, with agreed value of 850 quid :)

old-and-rusty 28-12-2007 20:04

Those are both pretty good quotes :D .
It`s just a shame that we can`t get free road tax on the s12, now that would be a good saving ;) .
Regards,
Ian.
