High fuel pressure

Guys, I need your help. I tried to solve it by myself, but without result. I can't crank up the engine. I found out, there is a higher pressure of fuel then stated in manual. The sparking plugs are totaly floated with gas... Without even litte sign "ignition". I hope you understand :) Do you have any suggestions, pleeeese? I have FJ20E engine. Btw. all that started when I got home and tried to park my cars. But the engine sudednly stopped. I found out my powersteering pump was jammed as well and of cource the belt was burnt in one place. Could there be any connection between those two "events"?

the bearings are probly siezed on your power steering pump, nothing to do with your other problem, which will be your fuel pressure regulator, located near the fuel rail, they are sperate on the fj20e, i have about 3 spare, if you need one let me know.;)

yes you can put a gauge in the fuel line.

I did it... the pressure of fuel was 2.7-2.8kPa in idle situation... normally it should be somewhere around 2kPa I think....

not sure about kpa, but it should be around 37 to 45lbs.

For the FJ engine fuel pressure check, the s12 manual states:
at idle approx 206 kPa (or 2.06 bar or 2.1 kg/cm2 or 30 psi)
the moment throttle pedal is fully depressed approx 255 kPa (or 2.55 bar or 2.6 kg/cm2 or 37 psi).
Hope that gives you enough different pressures to go for ;) ....LOL....

Ian.

lol , i was being idle and quoting the ca18et pressure, i could not make it out of the chair to get the manual.:D

My last post makes me sound like a real "boffin" ;) ...LOL......
The manual is on the bookshelf at the side of my PC, so I don`t even have to get up to reach it. If I had to get off my backside, it might be a different story  .
Regards,
Ian.

what-a-fancy regulator... :) It would be coolest thing in that car.... except orange chassis with black stripes :))...

btw. guys, who have FJ20E engine... what did you tune in it?

warning - stupid question: I have to go to check CO emission. I pray everythign will be ok, however I'd like to know how could it be adjusted in S12 if needed?

docertabum 27-11-2007 14:52

this car becomes my worst nightmare... Already two automechanics looked into it, but without result. I'm disappointed. So far we discovered only one thing. Too high pressure. Cold motor can be started, run for cca 15minits and then turns off... If that model would have inteligent ECU.... :( ..anybody with FJ20E engine here, heelp!

is there a way how to test ECU (model without led diodes) and sensors to be sure they are ok?
