FAO sir beany
hi m8, sorry for ringing you the other evening, i was on the phone to the missus on loudspeaker and holding the phone against the steering wheel, when the silly phone put her on hold and rung you :( i think i was a shocked as you was lol.
anyway, when i last saw you, did you say you have a spare bonnet??? i put a vent on mine and am not totally happy with it, so im looking for a different idea, but need a bonnet, even better if its mk2, but not ness. cheers. |
yeah i have a spare! its a mk1 though
|
hmm a mk1 will make it harder, but i guess still possible, ill get back to you, i assume you would want to sell it??
cheers. |
yeah everythings for sale! so what vent u got?
|
i havnt, the one i have on it at present is and evo 6, but the vent was left in the sun before i fitted it, and then when i did it i bollocksed it up and the corners have curled up a bit and broken the filler round it. it now looks a bit :/ so i was thinking of doing the same type as dens one on the forum front pic, but made using metal and my welder so no fiberglass to stick on, it can only go 2 ways good, or sh!t :D
i must stop watching chopshop london garage, they make it look to easy. **edit**http://www.umpkin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/vent.jpg |

Still it`s a good laugh to watch, they are two absolute nutters :D . Regards, Ian. |
yeah must say i really find it funny, and yeah them spacers are way to big 6" wheel spacers must put a hell of stress on the hubs.
tis on tonight at 22:00 on one of the discovery channels. |
Nice effort though Umpkin. Something a little different

I must admit the vent does look good in the photo, it follows the lines of your front spoiler really well, gives the car a more aggressive look :D .
Sorry for hijacking the thread ;) , but did you see Chop Shop last night ? That off-roader looked superb, not too sure on the colour and the "drug leaf" motifs though....LOL..... It would be great to have the imagination of Leppu, when visualising a car design. I wonder if they will do an s12, that would be one to watch ;) . Regards, Ian. |
cheers for the comments, i agree about the aggresive look, i may dill round it and put in some counter sunk rivets to stop it moving about, and then cut out the curled up part and fiberglass it in a bit better this time.
i do like the vent, i just lose interest when i cant visulise it going the right way. as for chopshop last night, i only got to see the last 1/2 hr of it, but did look pretty cool, and mor ethe fact they were running it on used curry oil!!!!!!!! i guess thats the same as chip oil. i didnt mind the colour, deffo was different. and deffo agree, leepu has an imagination like no other, and i saw once again fook off great big spacers. |
The last time I did some fibreglassing (to blend in my bonnet vents), I used a filler specially designed for fibreglass. It had fibre matting strands in the filler itself. It worked a treat and didn`t crack until my nephew decided to sit on the car bonnet  (the little shit...).
Chop shop was the usual madness, lots of swearing and messing about...LOL... Basically they were just using a Bio-diesel set up, you can use any type of used cooking oil for this, but some oils are better than others. I bet the car must have smelled gorgeous driving down the road ;) . Regards, Ian. |
lol, yeah :illboy
|
LOL.... I bet used chip shop oil smells good though ;) .
Regards. Ian. |
