which turbo elbow is better and will it fit

have a mk1 silvia i have just fitted T25 turbo from 200sx with 200sx downpipe i was wondering which one of these 2 downpipes would be better. i will be etting a 3 inch stainless system made for it prob with only 1 rear box no silencers

please tell me in you opinion item 1 or item 2 i hope item 1 coz the screamer pipe will prob sound good. is 3 inch too big for a s12 i will prob be upgrading to T28 ball bearing turbo soon thanks guys. im sure this will fit turbo as it's a 5 bolt flange and T25 is same downpipe housing as a T28 found on the SR20DET

i used 3 inch onto the t34.

i would just use a standard elbow.

kylepiggy 21-01-2008 20:52

surely being bigger bore would help plus the screamer would prob sound quite cool. do you think i could use a 3 inch 200sx frontpipe what they sell on fleebay cant see why it wouldn't fit and then maybe run side exit ??

my mate had a scremmer fitted to his mr2 and it sounded rubbish, i have a stainless one fitted to mine and it goes well with my stainless manifold and full stainlees system :)

I used to be in Haywards Heath but im Now in Horsham, still not too far,

only reasons i say to go with the std one is because ebay stainless parts are sometimes made of very thin stainless and they tend to crack alot either side of the welds. There not allways a problem, but unless you know someone else that has bought the exact same one and has had no problems whatsoever you should bare in mind it may cause your reliability to suffer.
Also the std downpipe will flow enough gasses for any t25 or t28 turbo exhaust housing so you could save yourself a few pennies for another mod

Same hear plus I doubt you would ever need a better one on an ET engine. Maybe if you upgraded to a DET with a
T88

sideways danny 22-01-2008 17:19

the standard s12 elbow is bigger internally (and a better shape) than the s13 elbow, and there's no cutting of the gearbox needed :)

kylepiggy 22-01-2008 21:15

i thought the S12 elbow wouldnt fit as it's 4 bolt and the S13 T25 T28 is 5 bolt ??

sideways danny 23-01-2008 05:17

well I've fitted them a few times and it's never caused an issue

kylepiggy 23-01-2008 08:42

cool that saves me some money im using s13 down pipe as the T25 was off the 200sx and had the dowpipe with it. i only had to shave off bout 4-6mm off the gbox lug and it fit fine. i am also using a s13 front pipe fits ok doesnt hit any thing just had to mod the middle section abit buy cutting the 2 bolt flange of and moving it back a bit. i have just ordered a 3" stainless front pipe with de-cat for the start of my system once on and modded i will post up
