preppin the mk2
 

i've spent the last 3 days stripping the mk2 silvia, i took the rear spats of on both sides, there was a tiny bit of rust where water had collected, so i ground it back with a flapper wheel, then rust treated it, filled it with a piece of filler the size of a 5 pence piece, then rubbed it down and fibre glassed over it, i then hammerited the sills and behind the rear bumber and the back strip that lies under above the bumper, then i painted all the back end, even though it din't need it,i also steam cleaned and painted under both rear archers and chassis rails, next will be taking the wings off, steam cleaning and painting behind them, its booked in in 2 week for wax oiling the underneath ,then this should be solid for years to come:D i should have done this to start with on the mk1.i'am taking the interior panels in to be leathered soon, they will be orange and blue.:cool:

yep, i think it will suit with the body being sprayed lambo flip orange:D have ya got your car sorted yet paul.:)

thats a very nice colour , they use it on the mercialago and the diablo don't they (scuse spelling):)

its not actually from lambo, but its very simular, 80 quid a litre.

what base are you gonna use? i have the feelin that i've seen your motor in a certain jap mag would i be right?

i've no idea on the base mate, i'am not spraying it,i'll get someone to do it,yeah it was in the jap performance many moons ago.:)

nice colour choice, maybe you could go for original orange mk1 s12 seats to match? :1la

i think i'll have the original seats covered, but not the pumpkin ones:D

So why the orange over lime green mate?

because i want it finished and if i had it green i would have to get a immaculate black interior, i've got a good blue one, so it will go with orange:D

ive got a mk2 s12 shaun if you want to collect it on a trailor coz ive had no joy on the job front as such so it will benifit from getting some good use let me know mate

flex, whats exactly wrong with it, what wants doing to get it on the road.in ya pm, you said its completely stripped down.

i've just been up the loft and theres a drivers side trailing arm with hub, you can have it just for postage mate.:D
