It's easy ;) . XRumer 5.0 Palladium is a software complex, which can post to more than 1.000.000 forums, blogs, guestbooks, BBS's, boards, etc.

It's price was grow up to $540, and continues growing.
Just use Google for purchase XRumer.

P.S. Dont use XRumer 2.9 and XRumer 3.0 - it is too old and buggy versions.

tractor-boy 26-07-2009 20:15

Snap on that one, bloody spammers.

PukkaSilvia 27-07-2009 12:31

another user group permission error. Ive sorted it now.
Users awaiting approval can now only send one pm. (to admin if need be)

I thought everyone paid RichardK and his 'support team' to do this? :trout:furious

Ive banned that user CocoChanels as well

umpkin 27-07-2009 18:48

i take that as no update on location of funds then?? :(

PukkaSilvia 27-07-2009 22:47

Dr Silvia 20-12-2009 14:35

nope nothing.. i have concerns as to why we are still using this forum software also. It is a rip off of open source code which Kimble decided we needed a long time ago, and its ooold. If you want to see what free forum ware can do look at www.thehh.co.uk. No spam to be found there or on many other open source based forum engines. The logic of his descision eludes me to this day. He said it was to protect us from spammers etc, but that clearly isnt working is it:rolleyes:.

This kinda needs reviewing, but since a long time ago when we had unreliable hosts pulling the plug on us Kimble appointed himself dictator of the clubs descisions after "kindly" offering to host this forum on the back of his company's already shared server. It was only recently his true motives became apparent. This is why I for one was outraged when he turned around and tried to operate this place like a business.

So there we have it; we could migrate host and software et al quite easily if Kimble would return the club funds to the Treasurer [Jon i believe], as I believe that Kimble is not competent to handle them, and suspect he has used the funds to subsidise his own interests:mad:

30psi 20-12-2009 16:31

Can't see whats better about that forum generally? Datmans site was on PHP and it got done over in a big way. VBulletin is like the industry standard, nothing wrong with it in my opinion, obviously it takes some time to set up against spamming as other VB sites I go on don't get the issue.

nedge2k 20-12-2009 21:53

Guys, not that i own a Silvia anymore :( but you guys were all quite helpful and I don't plan on being Slivia-less forever so I'd happily offer my services gratis (i'm a web dev) if you wanted to migrate to better forum software. Invision power board is always a very popular choice.

As for hosting, I tend to use Rochen, they are rock solid, the servers are always up to date and performance tuned, they have excellent and, more importantly, competent tech support and more often than not resolve a query within half an hour. They cost a bit more and don't offer as much space/bandwidth than others but there's a reason for that and it's quality. Be very caucious with firms who offer unlimited or very high amounts of space or bandwidth - the servers are usually oversold, slow and prone to hacking attempts!

..alternatively, you could go down the (virtual) dedicated server route which is nowhere near as expensive as it used to be....

think we need to start again, cut loses (enraging as it is!!!) and accept the club funds have been stolen.

nothing wrong with VBB imo, infact most other forum software is much less pleasant to use.

Nedge, I think Jon (pukka) is the best person for you to speak to if you think you can help out :)

Dr Silvia 21-12-2009 18:25

The point is that paying for this forum software isnt required, and the benefits don't justify the cost.

Perhaps you didnt notice what I was pointing out about the HH site because you had not noticed the absence of spam, on the board or via PM. It is a good example of a well maintained and more popular site, proving that the free software can be more secure than the premium paid crap we're using, which in case you didn't know is built on open source software itself.

As for hosting, thats what contracts are for. as long as the terms are right then you go with the lowest bidder.

Problems arose when the person handling the money said they needed too much than what would be reasonable for a community this size on a SHARED server. Kimble rented a dedicated machine them lumped as many clients website as he could onto it saying to each that it was dedicated, with the club footing almost all of the bill.

Guess the best thing to do to get the ball rolling is send any membership renewals to Jon directly, then we can atleast regain some degree of justification for our membership fees

umpkin 06-01-2010 20:29

ive had 3 PM spams in the last 48hrs, it dont really bother me, i just delete them, just letting you know for ongoing updates :D

PukkaSilvia 10-01-2010 02:05
