fj20.com

they have been a help, but at the same time the site does make me angry, theres aussies still struggling for part numbers on head, rod, mains and flywheel bolts, someone mentions no one will say anything because a company called rocket industries have took the trouble to find parts that fit, but surley there customers are not sworn to secrecy:rolleyes:, i managed to find out, i thought forums were mean't to help you ! its all hush hush on there, allthough i've just told them :D, i bet it gets deleted .
anyway here we go, arp head studs from the dodge commins 24v fit, arp studs from the cosworth yb fit the mains and arp bolts from the mr2 fit the flywheel to crank.;)

Good lad.

In the VW world there's these pistons called super squish. Apparantly they elminate detonation up to really high compression like 14:1

However if you buy from them you're not allowed to show pics etc of them.

Do they fit the Fj?

Hi 30 psi, do those pistons fit the fj20 with standard rods?

30psi 22-10-2010 00:21

Nope, I was just relating the secrecy to a similar one for VW's

Yup and on the lancer evo world theres supposed to be a 'mod' that eliminates crank walk(thrust bearing wear). but the few small companies that do it wont say what it is. I looked into it.the mods nothing special and not even proven to work.

People on the forums who say to have it done treat it as a secret lol. Dunno why.

s13eater 22-10-2010 21:08

me neither.

oh dear.why did you have to replace the iridium plugs? Detonation damage?

Sound like its back on the sideline again until you can get another 300 quid or so together for next map then?

Doesnt sound like much fun

no mate, no det or damage, just iridiums don't like overfueling, it's to do with them having a very fine electrode, thats what ngk reckon anyway.

PukkaSilvia 23-10-2010 11:11

Whats the overfueling ment to do to them? Normally with std plugs you can just wire brush them.

Thank goodness it wasnt only me. I have been looking at that site for a while now trying to gather information and part numbers for an FJ that is going to be built up here in WA and havent had as much traction as I would have thought. I am just thankful that the owners of BMI Racing (Adam and Sarah Burgess) are good friends. I am not 100% if they have the time to help, but Adam knows a lot about the FJ and even know Ben D when he still had his S12 back in the day. Possibly talking to them may prove helpful for some of you blokes. They are under BMI Racing on FB if that helps any.
