s12 roll cage

Hey does anyone know of any companies doing them, or are the just custom builds?? What sort of price have people paid for them??

cheers

I have a half cage from Autopower. Back in the day they used to produce cages in various forms, depends on how seriously of a setup you want, for the S12. You can call them and discuss what you have and what you want. They should still have it in their system and they can make one for you. I have the Street Sport one. It is more of a bolt in affair than a weld in one, which you can ask for also.

Stephanie at Edinburgh RetroCars had a thread regarding making these:

Would be interesting to hear what Autopower are doing and prices also:)

will anyone do them that comply with rules for drag racing ?

Draconis 13-12-2009 19:31

I know that some of AutoPowers cages are certified for racing but that only applies to some of them and to the US standards of I think the NHRA.

Here are some pics of mine - sorry not the best pics:

True... but for a bolt in, you dont usually get them really close to the edges of the car as well as a weld-in one or a custom one. I dont really use mine too aggressivly, so there is no need for it. For anyone serious about using their S12 as a track car, def. advise getting a weld in cage or a custom one for sure.

Hey no worries. I dont mind and do not take offense to what you said. I'm just stating for my uses, the cage does just fine. But I understand it is not the best nor necessarily the safest so if someone else wanted a cage for more aggressive driving, what I have is not advisable.
