HELP needed in essex

Im doing a 18DET swap into my 12, engines in on the mounts and gearbox.... but i am completely hopeless with wiring the loom in. I've looked through the many guides and it jut gives me a headache.

Would anyone in essex like to come lend a hand doing the loom for fuel and beer money? pleeeaassseeeeeee

if you brought it down on a trailor to my garage i could do it but i dont fancy the drive up essex way. Last time i drove to essex for a 'simple job' it turned out about 5 different people had been touching the car. i had to spend days fixing there mess ups ( ie dizzy taken out and put back in out of time) etc before i could get onto the real issue :p

Also asking? I have my loom sitting ready to go in mine when I get round to it:cool:

30psi 12-04-2010 17:58

The loom isn't hard providing its been removed from the car nicely

Im in thurrock... first exit after the tunnel and literally 2 mins round the corner. Whys that?

umpkin 12-04-2010 22:08

i have no idea where to start, but im in thurrock, i can pass mental helping thoughts.

Where in thurrock are you, so when your back on the road i can avoid the shame, lol

I'm in Hornchurch so aint too far.

What have you both got in terms of the loom? Got the section with the 3 green relays?

sil-lover 12-04-2010 22:12

The relays is the part i think im missing? the loom was pretty much unplugged from everything not on the DET and then the engine pulled out with the loom still attached... then i picked it up... I dont see any green relays so im guessing i left them behind?

Im only in Aveley, Didnt relise there were so many 12's near me lol

sil-lover 13-04-2010 18:53

Well the relays will be in the post very shortly so thats sorted...

I read on a guide about a power droper/converter thingy? wtf is that and would that be on the 12 or the 13? lol

Sorry for the silly questions but i am clueless when it comes to the electrical side of life lol

dropping resister is part of the s13 loom ancilleries. I have the lot here but if 30psi is willing to come and do it for free then go with that obviously as it will be easier

sil-lover 13-04-2010 21:44

Well as i said in my original post im not fussed about sorting some drink money out... or paying someone in a propa garage to do it... but if someones able to come here it saves me alot of hassle getting a car trailer...

what ya reckon 30psi? Fancy a drink in exchange for some guidance... i dont mind doing it all just need someone over my shoulder showing me what goes where etc?

30psi 13-04-2010 23:26

Yeah I can help out, time is an issue right now though, so Jon maybe the quicker solution to be fair

sil-lover 14-04-2010 13:04

Thats cool, well i still got some more parts to get before the engine is ready to be fired up cause ill wanna make sure the loom works as soon as its wired in incase theres any problems with it... you think you'll be free within the next 4 weeks maybe?
