howdy doody everyone!

Hi my names Andy and i have a mint condition 'D' reg Automatic mk2 Nissan Silvia, which has only 36000 miles on the clock from new!.Yes its okay you did read that right, its probably the only one in the country in such condition. The car is one of the early mk2's as 'C' reg cars saw the last of the much praised and well built mk1's.I have loads of history with the car including all MOT's and the original fully stamped up service record and warranty booklet.
from what i understand the car has featured in an american magazine and has been published in a book about 1980's sports cars.
my car is in original condition, has never been modified and totally mint inside and out,and has had 4 owners.
I would love to know if there are any other owners with a similar car in the club?

i have one like that. i just got it recently. 1986 s12 turbo with 55000km's not miles! (im in canada) thats why but its mint! it was owned by a senior. and my other is an 1987 s12 xe (ca20e)

how is the rear spoiler and alloys(corrosion) as these are the things that show age signs on the near minters .

Sounds good. Do you have any plans for it and how did you come across s12's in general?

wacomuk 09-05-2006 22:13

i think my s12 has just cracked 33k miles i bought it 3 years ago with 14k miles on it

its nice to know there are some low mileage silvias around.i intend to keep it original and standard and try and get to some shows and events throughout the year, but mainly use it for sunny days out.the rear spoiler has no corrosion whatsoever(as i know these are a very weak point on all silvias) and the bodywork has no rust at all anywhere even underneath.the alloy wheels have very slight corrosion but i will at some point get those re-furbished.it has the original wheel centre caps with the nissan logo in red on them.the interior has no marks at all and no rips or tears, its like new inside.the paintwork has very light polish buff marks and 1 or 2 little tiny dents but hey its 19 years old!,so i dont think its done to bad.
i got into silvias through my father as he has owned 2 from new and still has his second one which is a black mk1 auto with 112k and awaiting an engine change but he has owned it from new and is in very good condition and hes dry stored it for the last 10 years.not really much i dont know about the silvia as ive followed them from when they first came out,and for the last few years have been searching for a good example and finally found it.

Hi+welcome:)

i bought a red one just over a year ago with 40k on the clock... it was written off by an impatiant woman before it made 50k:(

I now own a b plate mk1, chassis at 60 summat now.. this like yours was once owned by an old man and is in great condition ignoring my current engine problems:D

last year or so there was a blue mk1 down south for sale with 9k on it he wanted £3k for it. i did have some pics ill try and find them

do you have any pics of your car?

red_s12 10-05-2006 18:21

where abouts down south, and d you know if its still for sale??.

im going to take some pics of mine sometime over the next few days,as the weather where i am is a bit hit and miss and i dont like taking her out in the rain.i took her out today as it was sunny till about 2 this afternoon and ive just cleaned and polished her.to be honest you really have to see her to believe it she really is in A1 condition.even the drivers seat bolsters are good, almost like new.and the rear spoiler is A1 with just a pin prick sized hole one end which im goin to treat with waxoyl.also gonna get wheels refurbished.she starts, drives and stops like a new car.are there going to be any shows soon that i can take her to that anyone knows of???.a mate of mine used a surringe to inject waxoyl underneath the rear spolier of his silvia when it had really low mileage and now his has done over 100k and the spoiler like new,as he treated it with armour all to.

i cant remember where abouts but it was near the sea. someone was selling it for there mother or something like that. i dont have the pics anymore :(

red_s12 11-05-2006 17:43

that is such a shame,as that would have been interesting to see:) .you really have to scan the adds and ebay as silvias are coming up alot but the really nice 1's are rarer to find now.im just gonna keep mine standard and look after her with lots of tlc and hopefully she will be a shining example of a rare breed in years to come.

NOTE:- if any silvia owners are in the basingstoke(hampshire) area, and would like to come see my well preserved silvia your more than welcome to pop in for a chat and a brew just e-mail me. [email protected]

red_s12 11-05-2006 23:32

now that is a rare car as there werent many 'G' reg's built, and especialy now with only 37k on the clock.i wouldnt sell it if i were you either.i had a late 'F' which was almost a 'G' but she gone to the big scrap heap in the sky now bless her!.

ianv72 12-05-2006 22:06

i put a few pics up in my post now red.:)

red_s12 12-05-2006 23:49

very nice car indeed.i like the blue colour to.my car hasnt got the colour coded trims though like yours.i prefer them with the colour coded trims.
there should be an s12 concours competition day where all the mint silvia's turn up and get judged..:)

S12KWA 13-05-2006 20:57

From 1988 onwards the lower kit & front spoiler etc, were colour coded and i think all 1988 onwards cars all had A/C and factory fit removeable sunroof's.
Also the last of the mk1's was 1986 D'reg.

red_s12 15-05-2006 16:53

thank you for that info :)
