Pukka Doctored Bonnets
 

We thought we would post a preview of the bonnet design that will be available next month in Full fibreglass. They will weigh approximatly 4 kilos :cool: and mount via 4 bonnet pins. Instructions on the mounting locations will be given.

They will be formed with a satin black gelcoat surface.

Me and Dr silvia have have been working hard on these and look forward to having them on our cars first :D . But we dicided we can make them for others too and will sell them for £170 :) . This is to recoup expences and make it worth our while as it does take time and effort to do these around work etc.

If you would like one express interest here to give us an idea of how many people want them once they start flying out the mould :p

on the vent,is the lip going to be any thinner on the vented bit, as mine is'nt as thick?

It can be whatever you like. its only fibreglass. it can be trimmed to whatever shape wanted once its out the mould.Im thinking i may not have a lip there at all on mine.

where did your source the bulge from?

we found the bonnet listed on ebay a while ago.. we contacted the seller and bought it out of the auction cheap as it had started to corrode and the vent had cracked away from the bonnet.

me and jon have just been outside and weighed a mk2 std bonnet on a set of digital scales:cool:... it weighed 22kg:eek:

Our estimated weight for the finsihed product is a mere 3kg

we are hoping to produce the first bonnet next friday (26th):cool:

Should be a fortnight after Jae i recon. Initial outlay of £ has been hard due to things like buggered headgasket and gone wrong respray and forgetting i had a deadline to pay the remainder of a holdiday to teneriffe to pay for :p

where abouts at teneriffe are you going jon ?

Jon and I are going to 'Playa Las Americas' if thats how you spell it, right at the end of August until 2nd week in September. :)

I have heard it is a bit of a concrete jungle, so Jon has plans of escaping into the Wilderness by hiring out a Jeep. Not sure if I am going to let him try and drive up the mountain yet. :rolleyes:

mount tede, don't know how its spelt, was right behind the hotel that i stayed in, i went with stell about 11 years ago, enjoyed it though, los cristianos is at the other end of the beach.

Yeah 'Mount Tiede' its not far behind the place we are staying in. :) Would you advise that Jon doesn't try to drive up it.

Could you walk to Los Cristianos from where you stayed or was it too far? I can't wait to go on hoilday now. :D

it was about 40 mins steady walk to los cristianos,i'd get him to walk up:D , when we were there nigel benn was doing his training up and down there, preparing for a fight.there's a aquapark in playa as well, big water flumes etc.

Im gunna go off roading and rag a jeep to pieces claire. Il do what i like :p

I want one! they are cool. i had to spray mine matte black the water stained it with white streaks when i washed it last!
