Turbo elbows

Im going for a Gt28r turbo as soon as i find the best one for my money and am wondering if i can use my T25 elbow(downpipe) or if il have to get a custom one made?

Looking at this picture of the exhaust side of this gt28r
http://www.hostdub.com/albums/FreeSt...0530.sized.jpg

the stud pattern looks the same as the T25, any ideas???

datdrift 05-06-2006 17:59

i think one of the holes on the t25 downpipe has to be filed/extended a bit but otherwise there the same:)

If thats the case then thats great:D How do you know about this then mate?

doski 05-06-2006 18:15

i have a gt28r on my ca18det and before i fitted a ss auto chrome stainless dump pipe i tried the old s12 one to see if it would fit and it did.

The std s12 elbow is a 4 stud pattern though although it does go on, it just wouldnt be a good hold as the gap between the studs is to far.

doski 05-06-2006 18:23

i found on mine i could move the studs and got the s13 6 stud pattern with it

datdrift 05-06-2006 18:23

a friend of mine fitted a t28 on his ca18det, and thats what he had to do?

told you before that I've used the s12 elbow on a t25 which is near enough the same fitting as a t28. using 3 studs and it's holding fine still. Preets violet is done the same way

adzs12 06-06-2006 01:04

I have a T25 elbow which i know now is identical to the T28, the elbow cost me £10 so whats the point in using something that isnt a perfect fix:cool:

sideways danny 06-06-2006 01:32

because the t25 elbow is a massive restriction:rolleyes:

adzs12 06-06-2006 01:36

How is it? its very close if not the same size as the T2 elbow just with an extra stud

PukkaSilvia 06-06-2006 08:41

Adz ive told you this before the t2 elbow flows more because it blows out the side lol

adzs12 06-06-2006 11:00

I got out the wrong side of the bed. Ignore my pisstaking.

I would like to compare the 2 elbows next to each other to see the inner sizes of them both though at some point to see what Danny is on about.

You have the t25 elbow on there now so you may aswell stick with that unless you go for a ssautochrome stainless jobby. There ment to be pretty good

adzs12 06-06-2006 21:57

Well according to danny them ss jobbies are shite aswell and a waste of time:rolleyes: Il do what i think is right for me;)
