S12 Ninja Project

With some nice New old rims if you get what i mean. :) If anyone knows what type and make these rims are i would love to know! there are no marking on them at all..

http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/9679/02wheels0jg.jpg

As you can see i removed the spoiler from the car that left 16 holes that were starting to rust. Might as well fix it seeing as i dont want my car to leak heh

The wing was so much of a pain to do. The rot was where the red lines are. As you can see the top of the arch has been made up but still needs a bit more work and has been sprayed with paint to find the bumpy bits.
Also you can see the bottom needs alot of work. would probably be alot easyer to get a new wing but im finding them very hard to get where i live (bournemouth). If anyone has one msg me! :D

Just finished the top of the boot and gave it a quick spray to find lumpy bits. bottom still needs sanding a bit but its now water tight :)

Next to come finish boot and wing, get small holes in the sills welded. LOWERING!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

DriftNinja 11-06-2006 11:40

Also are the AVO springs the only lowering springs around? £94 ish from www.avouk.com anyone know roughly how much they charge postage?

Also is there anyone local to bournemouth/dorset that could do a spot of welding for my sills and how much would it cost. Would perfer a s12 guy to do it heh.

:D

PukkaSilvia 11-06-2006 21:07

Wheels look very nice actually  .
Should look good.

chassis dynamics/Avo springs or custom wound springs made to order by companies like recoil are another good option. I dont have any contacts for this though at the moment. Try google custom wound springs etc

umpkin 11-06-2006 21:43

im quite positive (in fact im sure) they are rimstock "rimstar 100+" wheels, i had a set on my old mk2 escort. i got a set of the center caps from them too, but that was near 10 year ago, maybe give them a bell, you never know.

DriftNinja 11-06-2006 22:17

geez very old school then :D unfortunatly they are not made anymore. =(
They also look pretty rare cant find any sites apart from 1 mini site with a set of 13's on show these are the same size as standard rims and take the same tires.

http://pages.zoom.co.uk/vivaoutlaws/...her/oth12.html those are the same i belive nice one! for knowing what type they were!

DriftNinja 12-06-2006 11:46

Also still having headlight problems... tryed allmost everything apart from redoing all the wires. getting to be a real pain in the ass now. If anyone has anymore idea please let me know! :)

DriftNinja 12-06-2006 16:38

Been looking at getting some shocks as well.

(From american site. but pretty sure they are the right ones)
Front 1985 - 1988 KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks & Struts, Nissan 200SX (US) Part #365013 (GR-2 Rear #343210)
Rear 1985 - 1988 KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, Nissan 200SX (US) Part #KG4754A
KYB Strut Mount Part #SM5064 (anyone know if there are any adjustable mounts to fit this?)

With Avo springs 35mm drop.
With 5mm spacers all around.

Any advice?

DriftNinja 15-06-2006 10:44

Wing and boot finished and sprayed black.

DriftNinja 15-06-2006 11:05

Also put spacers on the rear wheels to bring the rims out a bit. but i noticed that the studs are quite short anyone know where i can get some longer studs as i would like to put 1cm spacers on rear as 5mm really does not show that much. Thanks

NIZMAINIAC 15-06-2006 18:55

they look a bit like revolutions to me

northerner 15-06-2006 19:34

Nice job, did you weld the wings then ? I think the IC would benefit from being more low down to get a better air flow :p

DriftNinja 15-06-2006 19:47

yeah its actaly too big this one and its the only way i could get the pipes to connect over the rad heh, but its still better than the stock pipe lol.
the wing was fiberglassed to get the rough shape then filled, took hours for the 2 of us to do it. :D

One of my mates is going to weld the sills for me over the next few days as there if a few holes  that need some attention.

Also anyone know the best way to remove this and plug it? And is that the right place to plug the tube to the dump valve as its what a friend told me. there is a little blanked off T there so we put it on that. Seems to work ok just want to check.

Anything else that you guys can think of that might boost the power a bit? :)

doski 29-06-2006 15:58

to plug the hole when you remove the old unit that controls the boost at7psi you need a 1 inch bsp bolt

kennyboy 30-06-2006 10:39

Plug the hole

To plug the hole i used an inch radiator blank from the trusty b&q for a quid. :D :D :D

DriftNinja 30-06-2006 14:36

Sweet will have to try that then! I have tryed so much to fix the lights but they just wont to down. when lights are off. and i think its making my battery go flat as well. the motors do work tho as when i wind the lights UP they reset and go down then back up again. allmost took off my thumb finding that out lol. if anyone has any ideas at all i would love to know. also changed the relay and still nothing.....

Dr Silvia 30-06-2006 19:35

may sound obvious but have you tried usinga known good stalk control?
i have had a faulty one play merry hell with my lights...

dont bother asking nissan for a new one though... as i recall it was in the region of £200:eek:

DriftNinja 30-06-2006 21:06

well even the little switch on the dash does not make the lights move. it works if they are wound down. (makes the lights goes up)

DriftNinja 30-06-2006 21:07

shame the stalk it not the same as the s13's as my friends have loads of them lying around heh

PukkaSilvia 02-07-2006 09:43

Its looking nice.

There is a headlight relay behind the drivers headlamp. Maybe that has poor wiring connections or it is sticky.

DriftNinja 02-07-2006 11:39

is that the one behind the battery? as i have changed that one allready. also i was told there was one behind the dash but i could not find it. will probably find out its wireing. also does the ecu have anything to do with the lights?

DriftNinja 02-07-2006 11:44

also if anyone has a wiring diagram picture of the lighting system i would love to see! heh

kennyboy 02-07-2006 12:01

Headlamp probs

Just had a thought mate a to had a similar probs but it was just one light ended up being the motor that pushes the light up, worth a try.:) :)

DriftNinja 02-07-2006 13:08

well thats the strange thing when i wind up the light manualy it resets itself goes down then back up again lol. so the motors work fine. geez this is a crazy problem!

Dazmans12 03-07-2006 21:50
