Dr Silvia 23-06-2006 22:22

please make sure you think very thoroughly about what you are doing here adam

NIZMAINIAC 23-06-2006 23:11

it would be hard to put a price on something like that, at the end of the day with all the time and money spent on it , it's down to what one individual is prepared to pay for it, personally i couldn't put a price on it

s13eater 24-06-2006 01:50

 oh mate, whats happening ? why are you selling your s12, its starting to look very  get it ti JAE mate.;)

adzs12 24-06-2006 14:42

Good luck mate.

I'm sure you'll make more money breaking bits off the car, returning it to standard and selling parts individually.

FLEXXX 27-06-2006 13:43

dont do it mate as to be honest you will regret it but i can understand the situation as ive am i was in a simmilar position when i got rid of both of them know i will have to start from scratch just try and be a bit more patient for while and see what happens as its a lovely car and very few people around who will look after it

I had a mortgage when I was 22. When I was 23 I couldn't afford to pay it. I could have sold my Silvia. I sold my works van. Still struggled. I sold my flat. I then rented for a while and found I couldn't afford the rent. Sell my Silvia you'd think? I gave up the flat! Got another rented flat. Couldn't afford it. Gave it up. Errrr now I'm in a caravan. BUT I still have my S12 !!!!!

Looking to buy a house or flat now though with my current (and final) girlyfriend.

NEVER SELL YOUR SILVIA WHEN YOU'RE IN NEED OF MONEY, ADAM!!!!

Look and learn flower, look and learn!

Fair point rich and hats off to you mate but at the end of the day if i decide i want to sell it then im selling it, the whole point of me starting this thread was to get offers and so far all have been replys to persuade me to keep it which aint helped my original question. Personally i thought id get alot of feedback but not in this way. It aint all about money its about if i want to sell my car or not:)

Are you selling it or not.

Would you like people to tell you what they would value it at rather than what they would buy it off you for?

Well what does this say?

Dr Silvia 28-06-2006 01:39

Are you after offers or a valuation:confused: Your grammer in that quote is unclear.

I think people on here arent prepared to put a price on it because they love their silvias and seemingly cant comprehend why you would want to sell it.. to some people here its not about the money.

adzs12 28-06-2006 01:43

Forget it if i do decide to sell my car il sell it elsewhere.

adzs12 28-06-2006 01:48

Is it such a crime to debate selling my own car?

No, you purely want an idea as to what you can get for your car. Pretty simple really. My suggestion is to return it to standard and sell the mods and parts etc. You'd get more dosh that way.

Regarding the other replies here:

I don't understand people on here. It seems unique to this site as well. Its like once you buy an S12 your owe your life to that car and you can't sell it.

On other clubs people question why someone wants to sell their car, they reply with their reasons and other club members accept this.

People here should be thinking of Adams best interests. If he sees fit that by selling his car he can move on in life sooner, than accept it, be happy for him and wish him luck for his future.

The S12 isn't even a rare car and certainly isn't the best car ever made. So of anyone wants to flog their cars then allow them to do so. Its not like they can't come back and own another.

People here need to get out and see the bigger picture in life and there are more things to life than owning a car.

Well I've not seen another S12 on the road for years and I travel all over England. Maybe I just miss them all.

Anyway, yes ok, if Adam wants to sell his car then it is his decision and if it helps him move on in life then I personally wish him all the best.

As for the value of his car, I'm inclined to agree with Martin about selling the bits then sell the car as standard.

Let's face it, none of our S12s are worth much in real terms. We all like to think they're worth what we've spent on them but they never are. This is probably why nobody wants to suggest a price. Book value is probably pennies. Adams car is probably worth about £950 as it stands. Maybe I'm wrong, don't shoot me down in flames if that offends. The question was asked about a price, I've given my opinion.

Ding dang do.

turbomike 28-06-2006 10:02

i also agree that selling the performance bits and turning back to standard then selling would get more money as unfortanuatly s12s dont seem to be worth a great deal even mint,if people wanna sell their s12s thats upto them ,people on here try an persuede you not to sometimes because they think of all the work thats gone into it and think you ll regret it especially considering the smallish amount of money you get when you sell, but good luck with the sale if thats what you decide,s12s are getting rare martin,i havent seen a single one for years round by me except when rich popped over ages ago,and there are none in the scrappies either, without a computor i would be fecked for bits, there are much more important things than owning a car of course, but your always going to have one most probably and there is nothing wrong in having a hobby and getting the most out of it

FLEXXX 28-06-2006 12:35

i would suggest that you bang it on ebay as it is and see what responce you get obviuosly put a reserve on it and see what types of offer you get if you are happy with the offers and if it hits the reserve its gone if not sell the parts and sell the standered silvia as martin said you will make your money back that way hope this helps if i had the money i would have offered you 2k but i dont mate so hope that indicates roughly what the reserve should be flying around at hope all goes well for you mate

RichardK 28-06-2006 13:27

And of course we may also try and persuade Adam not to sell his S12 because we like the guy and want him to stay on the forums!

:1la

adzs12 28-06-2006 13:35

Thank you guys this is the response i was hoping for to start with:) Like i say its just a maybe at the moment, but i just wanted to know at this stage if it has a good home to go too at the right price;)

PukkaSilvia 28-06-2006 22:12

i agree with flexxx ebay with a reserve could be a good idea. if it has a healthy turbo i would expect it to go for around £1500 and maybe sell the safc seperatly.Or with a t28 and a few touchups here and there it could get as much as 1750 to the right buyer i dont think completely stripping it for parts is a better idea as most of that cars value is in the labour thats been put into it already. This can be seen when looking at it.

Martin (30psi)

While it is in discussion and it is still a maybe other enthuisiasts are going to try and convince him otherwise. Good luck with your s12 sale.

s13eater 04-07-2006 16:26

adam, pm me a price for your s12 mate, i've got sum1 looking for 1 mate.
