Found an Advert for the Silvia in Autocar 1984
HI Guys,
We went to a Car show last week and bought a pile of car magazines from a guy for £10. In one of them was an advert for the Silvia which is pretty cool. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...6/autocar1.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...6/autocar2.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...6/silviart.jpg |
Nice find! very interesting
|
how sad am i, i've got that,lol.
|
i thought the 0-60 was 7.9?
|
ive got that as well:o the 7.9 0-60 is for the fj20e i think?
|
it does say 7.9 on one of the leaflets i've got, i'll check 2moz.maybe on the advert for the mk2.
|
hahaha so back in the day 60 series tires were ultra low profile?
Wonder what those engineers think of the 40 series tires lots of people run with their 17's now heh. That's cool though...looks like the S12 turbo was a bit pricey at almost 9000 pounds...(for the time period) |
ive been after that ad for a while now.. good find
the 0 - 60 time is 7.9 according to manufacture, it claims this time both for the FJ & turbo. the 9k price tag went up, the ads i have list the silvia for £10.395. on the road. (+ tax & reg). proper motor |
Stephanie, do you think you could get a higher quality scan of that? something like 300dpi? I'd love to throw that up in club-s12's multimedia section.
|
at the motorshow yesterday i bought 2 similar ads for the s12, one was for the mk1 which stated 8.5 and £10,xxx, and the other was for a mk2 which stated 7.9 and from £14,995. ill scan them in when i get a chance and post them up here
|
£14,995?
You sure mate, I'm sure the most expensive they sold for was £12k roughly. Based on RPI statistics, Its funny that £12k in 1989 is equivalent to £20k nowadays... Based on that advert in '84 of £8,994 then thats like £15k now... (if it was £15k in '89 then it would be equivalent to a £25k now) |
im pretty sure it was, ill confirm it when i get home
