i'am not sure on the bhp ken as my memory is sh!te, but i think pukka can remember.

30psi 24-07-2006 14:57

I heard of a rumour that is was about 400?

s13eater 24-07-2006 15:13

rob did 2 runs, with and without nos.

30psi 24-07-2006 15:16

nos? Nitrous ya mean lol? :trout

Wonder what size jets he's running, if they made more or less the power that they're suppsoed to.

s13eater 24-07-2006 15:23

i only wrote nos as thats what i though all you young budding drifters and street racers call it, ya know they come out of the cinema and think they are vim denzel, lol, i think it gave him 50 or 60 bhp.

30psi 24-07-2006 15:32

lol yeah i cant stand these littluns who call it 'nawz'.

Did anyone take their cars out for a blast?

s13eater 24-07-2006 15:37

i think we were all to pissed, pukka japster and i sorted out japsters clutch, the fluid was on empty and had dragged air in, it was black as well:eek: .

30psi 24-07-2006 15:40

Nice...

I got hold of this brake line crimping tool so made a new section up for the micra and bled the fluid after, and some pretty awful crap come out.

what the car inside the arbour ?? :trout :trout

:p

PukkaSilvia 24-07-2006 18:55

without nitrous it was 260 something at the fly 209 at the wheels. The nitrous pumped the wheel figure up to 290 something and mid 300s at the fly.thats very respectable seeing as it was 30+degrees at the time and they let it cook on the rollers for 20 minutes before they did the run.But the actual rollers seemed to be reasonable

If the car had been run up to temp 30 mins beforehand and then left and then started just before the run it would of done alot better.I suggested this but it wasnt done. I think they were a bit amature(it wasnt thor).

rob turbo 24-07-2006 23:10

these figures will change for next year.

the first run (216 at the wheels) he only reved it to 5000rpm. i told him to rev it up to 7000rpm for the 2nd run. 240bhp at the wheels. 3rd run with nos. 294bhp at the wheels

gutted.

leaving the car to cook for 15 minuits before commencing, then only to find they DIDNT use a fan whilsed dyno'in was a big power sapping contributing factor. couldnt beleve it.! sucking in 34c temp without a cold air sorce.

madness.! :furious

gunna go back to the drawing board & see what i can do for the next JAE.

want to re-create a bit also.

big fans aren't for cold air intake, they're for keeping the radiator cool and stopping the engine blowing up. temps would only have made a small difference to power

I saw a lot of other things in your bay which I think would be restricting power personally, I'd love to have a play with it and try a few things. if you want an accurate power figure you need to get over to Surrey rolling road. their Dyno-Dynamics is becoming the benchmark

CNHSS1 25-07-2006 10:30

whats the engine spec as a matter of interest? ET or DET etc? boost level, turbo? good numbers:)

rob turbo 25-07-2006 22:23

what other things did you see that were 'restricting' power.. were did you see them..?

standard airflow meter, crappy breather setup, couple of dodgy bits I can't remmeber now but i saw them on the bay

s13eater 26-07-2006 22:11

anybody know who's RR it was:confused:

rob turbo 26-07-2006 22:13

you will have been looking at old pictures. the breather is fed back into the air system, not to atmophere. + afm is NOT standard. its from a 300zx. there has been more work carried out nearly prior to the show also.

'dodgy & crapy'. not something i choose to complement someones hard work, own ideas, pride & joy. thanks.

Rob - I didn't look at pictures, i looked at the car on the stand. plumbing the breathers into the intake is a bad thing, it will lower the octane of the fuel in the cylinder. what 300zx AFM? certainly not a z32.

rob turbo 28-07-2006 00:13

I take it you have the det lump instaled & running bigger power than mine, please tell me more on how poor my engine is please. & how i need to mod it to get to your spec

thanks.

30psi 28-07-2006 08:51

What boost were you running? What cams and turbo does it have?

lol

i would of expected it to get an extra 15bhpish if the componants wernt so hot. Even so that is a great power figure for any s12.

RichardK 30-07-2006 09:29

Can we stick to pleasant, constructive criticism please!

You have been told :trout

well it's an s13 but 294.1bhp on standard 370cc injectors and standard afm at 0.8bar boost on a GT28RS and a limited edition Ocho chip, the injectors are maxed at 5600rpm so it runs out of torque at that point (well it stops climbing and its a dead flat curve) 720cc injectors and a Q45 AFM soon to be fitted

I'd happily play with the mechanical settings but I suspect you'd also free up more power by having a better map which is the aspect I will admit to beeing far less of an expert on.
