Jesus

As some of you know I've been driving a Micra for a few weeks now, and am somewhat enjoying its fuel economy.

Anyway, decided to take the Silvia out last night, as I'm removing some bits off of it at the weekend.

I was amazed at how fucking well this car handles. Looks like I got used to it in the past, but from walking into it after a few weeks of no use I was amazed,

First thing that shocked me was the feel of the steering and its absolutely brilliant turn in and grip round bends.

So boys and girls get ya fingers out ya arses and improve your cars ability by wacking together some coilovers with adjustable top mounts, and wack the tops in for the camber.

s13eater 28-07-2006 10:31

lol, martin are you feeling ok, sit down and take your temperature, i don't believe what your saying lol:p :D .i'd like to do coilovers, but someone said that the firm that does the do it yourself bits had gone bust.

30psi 28-07-2006 10:33

I'll drive it after putting standard stuff back on the front with SE lowering springs and we'll see what the difference is.

There's about 3 places to get the stuff from...

That car of mine is crap. But its doing 45mpg so I'm happy with it whilst I'm getting my hands dirty on other stuff. Haven't you got a better res version of the pic?

Anyway coilovers:

I stipped the coilovers and took a pic for all you to see what parts you need. Any questions, just ask.

Cheers Martin - that helps visualise what's required! :)

Gotta go shopping for bits soon methinks... :D

s13eater 01-08-2006 13:47

ok martin, is the threaded tube welded at the very top where the internal threads are that hold the insert in ? and how long are the threaded tubes ? cheers.

30psi 01-08-2006 14:13

The tube is welded at the bottom of the threaded tube. I guess the tube is about 9" long

s13eater 01-08-2006 14:21

is it welded to the left over spring cup that has'nt been ground off ? oh yeah martin, have you any idea on the spring rating and is their a specific spring lenght that i order, cheers.

30psi 01-08-2006 14:33

The old cup is completely ground off. Just slide the tube on and weld round the bottom. You can see where the white paint stops.

It don't matter what length spring you use as you just move the collar up or down to suit. You can see mine is half way down, so I could use a shorter spring and move the collar up. They're 325lb springs

s13eater 01-08-2006 14:42

cheers martin.

PukkaSilvia 01-08-2006 19:27

Did 325lb springs work well for you Martin?
