Passed its mot

My MK1 s12 has passed its Mot after being buggered snce November 25th last year.

It had a retsest this morning after it failed on headlight alighnment and a mislocated rear spring. i have no idea how the spring managed to jump out its housing at the top and wedge itself between that and the shock  lol.

Its now full time back on the road and the Engine Run-in countdown is well underway with me doing 80 miles a day in work commuting.

Im very happy to say the least :D

I hope to take it to Ace Cafe on the first Tuesday of January with the runin complete.

Jon, is your car lowered? my rear springs fall out ever time it gets jacked up

MOT for my Silvia very soon, i think that it might fail on headlight alignment too  its a pain enough to change the bulbs :D

Yes its lowered 40mm. On 'recoil' custom wound springs. They sit really tight in the cups when its jacked up so that is why i havent a clue how they had mislocated.

You have 3 options. you can use a strap that bolts to your subframe and then to the floor plan above it, ie a length of seat belt. this will then stop the subframe from dropping to far once jacked up. This is a common thing done to lowered cars.

Other options include new custom wound springs or getting metal p clips and screwing the tops and bottoms of the springs to there cups.

The headlight alighnment is easy, it is just 2 screw adjusters on the light fronts that you can adjust once the lights are up.

I put my car next to Dr silvias s12 infront of a wall at night and matched the headlight heights to his on the wall ;)
