just bought my first s12

hi everyone just bought an s12 always liked them .i already have a s13 but is of the road and needs a lot of work to get her on the road. i just had a mad moment the other day and bought the s12 from ebay for £150 traveled from glasgow to hampshire  (mad i know) but you just cant get them up in scotland . think the turbo is on its way out as it is smoking going to replace it with my t 25 from the s13 and see if that helps it also has a welided diff which i will replace (good for driftdays but not much else ) i have noticed that some one posted about it on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-SILVIA-...QQcmdZViewItem
does any one know the car or have owned it in the past ?

cheers andy

You travelled from scotland to southampton:eek: you legend!!

I seen that car on ebay, dont know who owned it before though, whats the side exit exhaust sound like and what are your future plans for it?

Quite a lot of us have travelled a fair distance to pick up our s12s in the past :)

With an s13 for spare parts you should be able to make quite a nice s12 as the alloys, turbo, engine, vlsd, gearbox etc are all compatable. All info is available with the forum search feature :)

Welcome

hi mate the exhaust is loud (annoy the neighbours loud ) but has a nice note to it as for the future my plans were to put the back seat back in replace the wielded diff and tidy up but already im starting to think of things to do to it i dont think i could put up with the diff can u put a s13 lsd diff straight on or do you need to mod it ? what ever i do it will be performance mods i will be keeping the look of the car as standard as possible though i like the look of the spoiler in your sig

cheers andy

Its nice to know in a sense that your kind of restoring it rather than turning into a drift machine like some people choose too, nothing against this offcourse but there also nice to see with full interior.

I agree on the welded diff as i didnt enjoy the ride on the few ive driven with welded diffs.

The s13 diff does not drop straight in although using parts from s13 and s12 diffs you can make a vlsd as members such as 30 psi has done in the past. He is the man to ask about this as ive not yet made one up:)

ive driven that car:) a mate of mine went to look at it, but it was up for £500 then so he dident get it, the boost pipes were all a bit shoddy, and it looked like the exhaust manifold studs were a bit bodged, but can't really remember now? when i drove it i dident think it went as well as my s12 with the t2 still onit, but for £150 you can't really complain:)

hi mate the boost pipes are shoddy but the manifold studs are new.
it is smoking alot now i am going to put my t25 on it and see if that sorts it but this breather is missing would this cause it to smokehttp://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...3/breather.jpg
the car does need work but the body is a lot better than my s13 which needs a lot of wielding and new brake lines to get i road worthy so i was thinking of striping it and using all the parts that i can for the s12
pic not working it is the one coming off the rocker cover

PukkaSilvia 13-11-2006 21:43

If its been removed the rocker cover hole can just breath to atmosphere and the other end on the rubber pipe needs to be blanked off

I should imagine its lower performance is either than not being blanked or If it is then blanked then it is the turbo. It should fly with your t25 on it. Your lucky to have all the s13 bits to hand
