fj20 info needed

i think there is someone on here who can help, i need to know the measurement in inches of how far the rear of the fj20 rocker cover sits away from the bulk head, i'am thinking about 4 inches, i just need the get it sat right, so that i can get my front pipe tacked together and sort out my plenum, i think 30psi's fj went to a guy in ireland, cheers.

To be honest you don't need to be concerned about that. Much more important is getting the engine sat at the correct angle and height in the engine bay.

With the gearbox attached if isn't directly in line with the diff, it will smash the prop up, due to too much angle of the UJ's.

I'd get the engine setup first as far back as possible and ensure its sat at the correct height and angle before thinking about the exhaust.

Don't you have FJ20 engine mounts, or front cross member?

why, is the fj front cross member different to the ca one ? if so in what way ? according to ben d, the engine mounts are just 46 mm blocks when the engine is sat on them. i have mine sat on 2 x50 mm ford mounts up to yet.

The mounts sit on 2 towers. They could be different I guess.

If you've bolted it up, then you'll know how how much gap is though wont you?

just been in touch with nissan and they are the exact same part number for the front subframe.

30psi 30-01-2007 10:39

Was it a 10 figure part no. they gave you?

s13eater 30-01-2007 10:43

i gave them the chassis number off of the fj20 and the mk2 of mine.they saw both parts on the micro fish and both part numbers where the same.

Pretty lucky then, the bracket and the mount itself are completely different its weird

yeah i know what you mean, i've just looked in the manual, the the engine mount brackets on the block are different, but i have those, and the mounts are different, they are just square blocks of rubber, with threaded bar each side, so i can just use ford ones, i have got some solid ones as well, but the cross member is the same, so its fine.

come on lads, i know there's 2 of you on hear with fj20's, i only need 1 measurement from you.
