HEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!

Just spent 2 shitty days putting a Walbro Fuel pump on.

Done all the first stages of tune from the upgrade thread.

Volvo T5 intercooler
remove and blank safety valve
K&N filter
boost gauge

took the car out before getting the Walbro and it was fine

fitted the Walbro and it sat a little high in the cradle, took it for a spin and it was kangerooing all over ( was low on petrol though) put some more juice in and it was the same.

Took the Walbro back out (in the process rounding one of the 6 bolts that holds the 6 cradle in, which I then Had to drill and it still won't take another bolt, just keeps spinning so its only held in with 5 bolts which I think should be ok????)

Fitted a longer pipe to make the pump sit lower in the tank bolted everything back up and took it for another spin expecting it to be fine.

WRONG!!! its still running like a bag of shit.
when pulling off it is trying to die, and when driving steady and then putting your foot down it does the same. but if you floor it and the revs are high it is fine.

Has anyone any ideas??????????????

I had a problem with walbor.
The pump took to much amperage and the ecu gave a fuel pump foult code. The car was runing extremly rich and it was fluded with fuel on boost. I had to put two H4 bulbs insted of the pump to fool the ECU and gave the walbro seperate powet and it helped. The walbro gives about 0.5 bar higher preasure at idle 2,4 insted of 1,9 when runing on 14.5 volts insted of the mear 11+ that the Ecu gives.

Gives me a start as to what to do. did you run power to a switch and then to fuel pump?

Which wires are which at the fuel pump end?

has anyone else had problems like this?

would have thought this would have been covered in the fitting guide

Did you read the walbro fitting guide in the how to section?

Check the foult codes in the ecu.
If i fine a fuel pump foult code then this is the problem.
I had a straight conect from the pump to the battery with an on/of swich. And two H4 bulbs to emulate the fuel pump for the ecu using original fuel pump wiering.

It probably just needs a relay installed. Check what voltage you are getting at the pump. Old wiring has a fair bit of resistance and you may be getting a voltage drop

Worth also considering whether the fuel lines are connected the correct way.

Checking fault codes, Fitting Relays this is a little in depth without a little "How To Guide" LOL.

checking the codes sounds a good place to start how do I do this?

Then fitting a relay if it solves the problem, Which relay??? and how do I go about doing that??????

Sorry for sounding so thick, this turbo stuff is all new to me and I am determined to crack it with your help guys.

Do you have a Walbro on yours Pukka, would I be right in saying if it needs a relay just cut the wires to the pump and install it?

Would it have to be a relay that ups the volts????????
