more turbo needed

ok as you know i have the s12 in a kit car, i bought a hybred turbo for it and its running 7psi atm, i've now fitted a cooler to it, whats the best way to increase it to say 10psi to start with, i dont have the turbo with the screw out adjuster.

pics and places to buy parts would be good

i can see what psi i have using the megasquirt ecu

there is a few ways of raising the boost

bleed valve (constant boost leak and boost spiking)
electronic boost controller (£££)
up rated actuator (££)
mod your standard actuator (2 hours work and free)

i recommend the last one. all you need to do is shorten the actuator arm. best to make it adjustable so you can regulate the boost

i have pics somewhere from when i did mine

or use a bren device, tis similar looking to a bleed valve, but has a sprung ball inside, you see the spring at the prefered boost pressure, and it will only open the actuator at that psi, you dont get hardly any spike if atall and it dont leak like a bleed valve.

you can get them for £23 i think from ebay, or apex do them for bout £35 (they are a proper tuning place, prolly better quality.)

i used one of these and was very happy.;)

Or if you want to be a real farmer giles just hit the actuator rod with a hammer to put a very slight bend in it. It works the same as shortening it but is a little more crude. Takes 20 seconds and is also free:trout

Search mbc valve or mechanical boost controller on ebay and theres loads that will come up if you want to have easy adjustment.

they are awesome, it's identical to a turbosmart valve which sell for £50 (think it is one just no labels)

wonder how i plumb it in lol

the turbo smart one plumbs in like a bleed valve, you have an exhaust to the engine bay bleeding off metered air.

unless they have someone special built in, i would still look at the bren device for low cost controller
