All you vernier pulley owners out there

I took my pulley cover into school and messed about on the vacuum plastic machine. I have made a vacuum plastic mould of the cover and am going to try it on the car this weekend. It seems fairly strong and may do the trick of covering the cambelt safely and allowing the pulley to be seen. Any thoughts on this? Has it been done before?

from what i can remember from vacum forming back at school the resulting mould was quite thin and sometimes prone to snapping or shattering, are you using a thicker plastic for the mouldin??

depends entirely what material and what thickness you use

Its fairly thick and has formed a pretty good shape. Will fit tomorrow and post pictures if the weather permits

Would be interested to see this and how it stands up to the environment in an engine bay i.e. temp range, water, vibration, oil etc

Always nice to have someone making parts up and trying things. Not like you can pop along to a tuning shop and buy bits for these ;)
