Rear brake lines
Hi all,
I thought this might be worth mentioning as we have a few "new" owners appearing on the forum. I've noticed that a couple of people (including myself) have found the rear brake line that runs over the Axel gets seriously rotten over time, almost to the point that I have no Idea how it still works! With most of the S12's getting a pounding on the track these days it might be worth checking that this line isn't about to split and kill you![/MELODRAMA] I've never heard of one actually breaking on someone but for the sake of a couple of quid it's probably worth looking at. The one on the Jackie/Reeper project literally crumbled in places when we changed it! |
Parts needed- 4.76mm or 3/16" pipe with M10 male fittings

Cheers Martin, I just reused the old ends and made the line up out of the stuff my old man uses on the MG's :o didn't measure it but it worked well :D

mine did fail me at 127mph, so around 120mph as my speedo was 7mph out, my foot went straight to the floor, and i only had about 60 meters before the roundabout.

Yeah I bumped an old thread deal with it lol
So, I buys the Goodridge S12 brakeline kit on ebay expecting it to be not the right kit and I wasn't surprised lol.
I can use the front lines with my Z32 front calipers, and the rear pair look like they'll do, so now I find myself needing aother pair of brakelines to replace the middle set ie; between suspension arm and chassis. I'm happy enough to have a bash at makingthem up but question is what size braided line should be getting, 3/8s or 7/16s ? edit: actualy, maybe I should have Earl's do it for me. Assuming I want to keep the short section of hardline on the rear suspension arms, the flexi would need to be 10x1mm female concave at either end right ? |
