Expanding Foam
Has anyone filled or tried filling their sills with expanding foam to stiffen the car up, if is it an easy job to do?
|
The real problem with this technic it's the fact that moisture tends to appear in chassis by keeping water, all the rest is good ;)
|
Would that actually work? Maybe some improvement with side impact, but if the type of expanding foam that builders use, it would just flex and give and turn to mush..... I filled the cavities in my glass fibre gp bodykit that I got from chester with expanding foam, and it keeps the gravel out of the side skirts, but thats about it... 2 months in and it is falling apart.
So no.... I doubt it would do much good. What about concrete? Conk |

I used about a gallon of waxoyl..not very stiff if they rot away :)

I know that you have to make sure that there is no moisture present when you fill the sills, I just wondered how easy a job it was to do and if it makes any differance to stiffness.

No... it will not do anything for stiffness. Dont bother.
Sorry... Conk. |
