My plugs keep crapping out

My spark plugs only seem to last about 500 miles then they start misfiring when i use high boost at high rpm. I have tried cleaning the plugs but only a new set cures the missfires. The plugs are the normal coffee colour and look perfect and are ngk bpr7e's. I can't hear any sign of detonation. Any help apreciated it's getting expensive!

what bout leads???? last set i bought was proper nissan ones, cost me bout 45 quid the set i think.

a friend of mine had similar prob to your a short time ago, turned out to be leads, was only missfiring on acceleration.

Cheers, I fitted a new set of pattern part leads a couple of years ago but I will try a genuine set from Nissan...looked on the ngk website is it worth fitting iridium plug equivalent to the bcpr7e ?

imo no, bcpr7es should be upto the job:)

before i fitted my nissan ones i had pattern ones, i put them on the car, they were fine for the first 2 weeks, then after that every time it rained i had 2 cylinders drop altogether, then after it warmed up i got 3 but never 4 untill after it had been dry for a day, then i put on my nissan ones, and they have been on there since, that was bout 7 years ago, i wouldnt use pattern ones unless it was an absolute emergency, and that would be till i got another set from nissan.

Think my lead trouble is similar to yours Umpkin I binned the pattern ignition leads tonight and re-fitted the 21 year old nissan set and the missfire has gone away completely!!.. weird those leads were only a couple of years old .

I should have enough plugs to last me about 10 years , a new set from nissan is on the shopping list i can just about afford them now i'm not buying iridium plugs , thanks for the wise words! :)
