was lucky it was the inside of the rear tyre, and an empty road, i felt a very minor shaking of the steering wheel, which went away, until 5 minutes later there was a violent shaking of the wheel (all at 70mph) before pulling over to the side of the road:eek:
Good o' Nankangs!

there bald as a coot.

Ive done a few tyres like that on the offside rear a few years ago from being skint and not buying new tyres.

have you ever run that tyre flat?

s13eater 13-10-2007 10:30

only time my tyres did that, was on my mk1 and that was on the rears when it had been lowered, i found that even with the camber conversion that it would still feck the side walls up, i found that changing fron 40's to 45's sorted the problem,i think they look better, 40's don't fill the arch enough on 17's. youcan get 225/45/17's on the front ,but i hsd to grind a little window in the spring cup so that it din't rub.

Never happened to me before, but I have had a steel wheel shear off completely, the centre of it is now mounted and is a trophey for my motorclub, the 'Wheel of misfortune' :D
