I'd get used to it fella, unfortunately she'll be doing 6 month tours in the desert before you know it. I'm RAF and I've done nearly 2 years on detachments in 12 years service...

i bet she din't expect that at 16 in the logistics core, i bet she thought getting her nvq in catering was cooking a few burgers in the uk lol.

I wouldn't worry, she wont be going anywhere till she's 18. I got out last year.

The Tech Foundation colledge at arbourfield. Was a school leavers thing cause was only just 16. Did 6 years and that was plenty for me, only did 1 tour to afghan in them 6 years so its not bad for everyone, just pot luck.

I joined at 16, 23 years ago I've 6 tours of Northern Ireland, 3 of the Balkans, 1 Gulf war, 1 invasion of Iraq and 3 tours of Afghanistan under my belt with no major injury all at the sharp end so to speak so don't worry that much when she does go not that me saying that will help much because you will. My mum refuses to watch the news or read the paper when I'm away in case she see something she doesn't want to, just remember her mates will be there to look after her when she goes away.

One of my mates who went in the mob trained at Winchester, he went to AAC. He got an award, as he didn't find the training too hard. It was funny him and a few others who went in to the services found the cadet camps easier.

As for the detachments to conflict areas, thats what the game is about. Unfortunately alot of people forget this when they sign on the dotted line.

she seemed ok when we spoke to her earlier, she should piss the trainig with how much she has done from being 5 years old, she has'nt done much running copared with the sit ups oress ups and weights that i gave her to do, but she can go out and do 14 miles, then some uphill sprints, then she came in and did some curls then 500 sit ups, and the last couple of years i went a bit sft on her and let her get a bit slack, but she still went out and did all that about 2 months ago, she went out and beat the pt instructor over the 1 1/2 mile run the other day, 10.05 mins, not record breaking quick but not to bad.
