ECU - mk 1/2
i want to fit a mk2 ecu to my mk1 silvia so i get a 6.5k rev limiter for drifting, are there any other differences between the 2?:)
|
That is the only difference. I once heard the maps were slightly different but i didnt notice any difference when i changed mine in the past.

the mk2 has a rev limiter but it aint a 'soft cut' jobbie, more an emergency cut off to safe guard the engine. It kills the engine, so wont allow you to hold it on the limiter. I reckon youd be better to look for a separate aftermarket rev limiter, they often go for 30-40 quid second hand, and wire it into the coil and keep ya mk1 ecu. Try ebay for omex, armtech etc etc.

how hard would it be to wire a limiter in? problem is ive got a smaller aftermarket steering wheel, and with the standard seat its difficult to see the revo.....maybe it will be better when i fit my bucket seat??

Get on of those and you'll know when to shift and keep away from the rev-limiter ;) |
ive used both omex and armtech, they are a piece of cake, usually only 3 or 4 wires. Check on racecarsdirect.com as there was a 'speedshift' for £30 s/hand the other day. I had one on last sprint car, has shift light, revlimiter and simple launch control.
