Turbos
Saw a post on migweb (vauxhall forum) regarding turbo choice on the c20let which is the turbo variant of the popular c20xe (redtop) engine. A guy on there was recommending grabbing a turbo off a Mitsubishi Evo - the TD05. Supposedly, not only are these way cheaper the Garretts but pack a lot of punch.
Anyway, here's the posts: http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/engin...ml#post4065838 http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/engin...ml#post4066350 Anyone ever used these on a CA18ET? |
no idea on those, but i've used std t2, t25, t3 and garret t34, unless your on a aftermarket ecu i'd steer clear of the t34, t3 is still a little laggy without managment,a t28 bb would probley be best, you need good exhaust gases to spool up, so that getting your head gasflowed by someone with a flowbench.

yeah but garretts always carry a price premium :( i mean, check this td05 out:

looks ok, only thing with 2nd hand turbo's is you don't know if they are buggered untill you give the shaft a wiggle:wack and if the seals are ok until you bolt it on and fire it up, can you trust someone with a scooby lol :D

lol, good point ;)
ok, for a bit more cash... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TD05-BIG-16G-T...#ht_4297wt_939 or even... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-WRX-STI...d=p3286.c0.m14 :D |
