14mm is toooo big ;)

not gap... the width of the spark plug to unscrew it with a socket.

they're the slim type if that helps

londonsilvia 20-05-2010 19:50

10mm... just checked.

It's worth noting that with 10mm being quoted for a spark plug tool that's the size of the thread, not the size of the actual hex itself (16mm I think)

londonsilvia 20-05-2010 23:40

laymans terms... please...

Well the hole that the spark plug screws in to is 10mm wide.

The socket that fits on the plug is 16mm.

But for some reason spark plug tools refer to the 10mm which may mislead you.

As long as you buy something recognised as a 10mm spark plug tool you'll be fine, but if you were using a normal deep socket you'd use a 16mm.

is this what you mean? 10mm/16mm? i got this but i cant get to the last 2 spark plugs, i need a bendy one... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165469

Yeah that's why it has 2 sizes (but still only 1)

That 2nd one should work yeah, I've used one like that for many years
