air filters
 

I know that air filters have been covered numerous times in this forum but Ive been having a problem trying to fit one. I understand that ill need a s13 mounting bracket. I have no idea what it looks like tho lol so my work had a nissan sunny gti to which i "obtained" a piece of the airbox and tried to mock somthing up to work. Heres wat i came up with.

2 pieces i separated.

Then glued them togeather.

Sealed them with sillycnut so they theres no gaps.

I've used a air filter i borrowed from a friend. But as soon as it started the car up it rund like a bag of shite over fueling and cuts out :(. Am i doing something wrong?

runs ok wth the stock airbox refitted ?

Yeap runs fine with the standard box on it. Which was the thing thats puzzling me. Any1 got any suggestions? Does the s13 bracket replace the maf? or is it just the same as the thing that ive mocked up?
