New owner saying hello

Hello everyone ,

My name is Sean i have recently bought a red s12 with 40k on the clock will, problem is it need a new clutch. The car came with a clutch that will need fitting but it is for a 2.0 will this item fit the 1.8.

Hi mate
The clutch you have is for the FJ20 engine, I dont think the Fj clutch fits the CA18
Somebody will correct me if I am wrong

hi i thinking the 18 and 2litle clutch is the same engine blocks the same pistons are bigger size measure clutch plate across on each . cheers ps welcome to the s12 site ;)

I dont think the clutches the same - there are more bolts on the FJ20 one holding it on than the CA18. Unless of course 2.0 litre one is off a CA20

FJ20 has a much larger clutch
I know this as I have both engines

cheers people , i think i will buy a new one the box looks like its been sat in a damp garage for years.

p.s that manifold nut is a right bugger to get at , got to change the turbo as this one is seized

i've found chopping a cheap spanner in half with an angle grinder does the trick nicely. the biggest pain is getting the water feed pipes away from the back of the head without bending them - you can try taking them off the turbo in situ but it's easier to disconnect them from the inlet side of the head.
