mkI hood problems

ok so im working on my project s12 its a mkII. had front damage so i swaped out the side fenders to mkI, front bumper mkI, and i got a hood MKI, everything fits good except the hood it wont close all the way. i dont know why though. im looking but cant see what is keeping it from latching. any ideas???????

That will probably be the Hood lock as MK1's are different to the Mk2's

i put a mk1 bonnet on my mk2 the other week and it shut properly 1st time, probably just the hood lock needs loosening and moving till it shuts properly,or has the panel it sits on been damaged ie bent back in the crash

no nothing on the alignment was damaged the old hood was a bit dented up in the front but still closed and the mkI hood aligns perfectly but wont shut as something in the front is keeping it from going down any further for it to latch

well i figured out what it was, im so dumb from not seeing it before, but the hood is like 2cm longer than mkII so the latch was hitting against the hook on the hood so it wouldnt latch, so i unscrewed the latch and add thick washers between the crossmember and the latch causing it to be out by 2cm therefore hood closes properly!
yeah i know im slow! :o lol

what engine has it got, if its the fj20 i think that sits higher than the ca18 hence why they had the bonnet bulge, the mk2 also have a bonnet bulge, could be hitting the engine if so???

take a few pics of under the bonnet, then we my be able to point out the prob with being able to see whats under there.

**edit** ignore the FJ20 bit, i think only the mk1's had the FJ didnt they.
