This month in surgery

Okay so the sites been up fer ages so i thought maybe i should show you what i've been up to..

After identifying my clutch as having been a clutch a very long time, the world's cheapest exedy clutch was found at £fa (thanks pukka), the t3 was given a once over, and an oil line and turbo blankie was ordered..

then we threw the whole lot in one day when we were feeling adverturous, see the ressults for yourselves ;)

There are a couple of bugs to iron out, she keeps popping a hose and the fiat(sshhhh!) rad isn't quite man enough for the task in hand

Again thanks to pukka fer helping out with yet another hard days werk

Also gone on are jon's wheels, and a capacitor

Shes a beauty. Was good fun working on it. Damn fast too when that boost hose holds out.

The rad should work ok if we swap thermostats for a z32 thermostat.

Dr Silvia 06-11-2005 16:47

That boost hose is currently holding out :whip went out fer a test earlier and it was loving it (tm)

as for the rad it will have to go, it doesn't even sit straight its too wide... mebbe the 300zx thermostat will help the cooling as a short term fix tho...

Do you think the turbo blankie is helping much or not? Would there be any point using a blankie even for the standard T2?

Dr Silvia 06-11-2005 20:31

i wouldn't bother on a t2, as theres boost 2000rpm up; but it definately makes a difference although at a cost, and you have to leave the thing to idle for a fair dose longer because of the temperature increase

adzs12 06-11-2005 20:36

Ok i was curious as ive never looked into turbo wrapping although ive seen skylines pushing big power using it.

I may use it when i get the T3 on but do i want to cover up a polished turbo and manifold lol:ghey

Dr Silvia 06-11-2005 20:56

dude you dont polish cast iron!:poke

the wrap only goes over the exhaust turbine housing as this is the only place you'd want to keep heat in

adzs12 06-11-2005 23:24

 Whos polishing cast iron My manifold will be stainless :trout

The turbo i have my eye on has a polished stainless heat shield around the exhaust housing so il have to see if the blankie is for me:)
